Starfire Golf Club - The King Course

Played this course before when it was a little better shape. Some of the tee boxes were pretty bare, roughs are exactly that-rough and if you don’t track your hit very well then you will lose your ball forever. The fairways were pretty good, a few bare spots noted. Greens were on the slow side as I think they were still moist from the morning watering. Bunkers were wet sand/mud and they desperately need to trim the lip of all the bunkers as there were viney weeds growing into the bunkers. People need to be encouraged to fix their green divots and use the divot fillers on the fairways. Also our divot filler containers were nearly empty. There was ice cold water coolers out-great addition! We brought our own coolers with just water and snacks. Saw the bev cart twice. Pace of play was fine-did have to wait a few times but no biggie. There is three holes that have mandatory water so plan your approach. Staff was very nice, efficient, and the starter let us go slightly early since we were a twosome! I will only play this course when the fees are lower.

Absolutely dreadful experience at this golf course! Management is an utter disaster. Grounds are a mess, staff behaves unprofessionally, and there's zero organization. Don't waste your hard-earned money here. Find a better place to play golf, trust me!

Except for an unfriendly on-course marshall, everything was pretty good. Only could play 9 holes due to my colleague’s time commitment.

Fun wel maintained course, its not really dificult but fun, I will play it again.

Was on a vacation. Booked a tee time that was already past the 48hr cancelation policy. Unfortunately we could not make it due to an illness. Manager didn't care and would not refund the money. A certificate was offered to replay but that is impossible as the course is 1800 miles away. My advice is too go somewhere else.....

Decent layout, decent practice facilities. Course was not in decent shape. Practice green was threadbare. Tee boxes were in real bad shape. Realize this is a municipal course but untucked shirts, hats on backwards, really not acceptable. Pace of play was atrocious. Almost a 5 hour round. Course had rangers but they did little or nothing to improve pace of play. We were a twosome, very slow foursome in front of us then a twosome. Ranger should have insisted we play through and hook up with the twosome but didn’t happen.

This was the first time that I had played the 18 holes that I’m writing about since then I have played it several times, including the nine hole Mulligan course I like this course it has tons of old trees, relatively narrow, and really quite an enjoyable place to play. My Main issue with this place is you’ll be playing along and you come around the corner to start your next hole and there’s a group of kids walking The hole in front of you. Now I believe that this is a great place for kids to hang out. It is so much better than a street corner. But what I Don’t like is at 4:30 Pay $90 for 18 holes iand 40$ for nine holes and have these kids popping in and out of your game or just taking over the holes that they’re playing at a leisurely walk with no Hope of finishing your round. These kids appeared to be entitled because they don’t acknowledge you They are pleasant enough, It’s a complete lack of Acknowledgment when you ask to play through. The club seems to know that they’re there and they really don’t do anything about it. In general, it’s really quite a nice place. I like to practice there. It looks like a great date night place where you really don’t care about playing golf, but I would play someplace else for that kind of money and enjoy the round without having a bunch of young boys Interfering with your game

One of the marshalls was rather nasty in telling us we were playing too slowly and not keeping up with the golfers ahead of us. They were a 2-some, and there were 4 of us. He ruined what was otherwise a pretty pleasant afternoon.

Its a fun and very well kept course, the staff is very friendly, its not a really hard course, but I’ll be playing there again.

One of the better public courses in the area. Good golf carts. Pace of play was great until we reached #16 where it backed up due to bachelor party groups in front, holding everyone up. Decent fairways and greens. I wish people would fix their ball marks on greens.

Overall the course was very enjoyable. The course warden was very nice and helpful. It would be a tough walk as there is some distance between greens and tee boxes.
