Good round
Really like this layout, especially the front nine. But no markings to the 10th hole on the King course, so we had to be shown by the staff to get to the 10th tee.

Got stuck playing the 9 hole Mulligan and 10-18 of the King. Very disappointing.

While the Mulligan 9 is a fun 9 hole layout we are sorry you missed the notice we had posted online.
During the preceding 40 days all golfers who booked online had to check a box indicating they had read the pertinent information regarding the rotation of holes for that particular week. We are doing this again as our core aerification approaches in June. We understand not everyone might pay close attention as they click through quickly with their mouse, but we are using everything our online provider GolfNow allows us to use. We are so fortunate to still have 18 different holes to offer our golfers even when we have 9 holes closed for maintenance.
If it's easier to call the golf shop for your time our golf shop staff is very good about notifying our golfers when necessary maintenance events take place.

Entrapment
Pros: The course was in as good a shape as I’ve seen it. The greens were rolling fair (7-8 stimp?). Beverage cart hostess & the marshals were friendly and engaging. One even asked about my irons.
Cons: Now I can’t say for certain, but I swear that when I booked the tee time a week or so prior to my play date, there was no “Alert” that the only 2 courses open for play were the King back 9 & the Mulligan 9. And range balls were not included. Not for $85.00. Maybe $65.00 all-in. I’m getting a new eye glasses prescription.

Bad Luck
Unfortunately upon arrival, we learned that back-9 was closed (for 2 days) due to maintenance issue, thus requiring us to play the 9-hole executive course as an alternative. Course was fair in general; tee boxes needed TLC; fairways were OK; sand traps were course, dried dirt, not at all sand; greens were slow and bumpy. Pace was fair, as well as value. Weather was very accommodating.
Thank you for playing Starfire and thank you for your feedback. We apologize your experience was not up to par, but your feedback is what motivates us to get better.
This summer Starfire will be doing a complete tee complex leveling as well as bringing in new bermudagrass sod for the tee tops to complete the project.

Don't look at the pictures!
Not worth the$120 I paid. Worth half that. Course weaves through a sub division. Nothing scenic about it.
Thank you for playing Starfire. Our course has been at this location in Scottsdale since 1953 and the community has definitely grown up around us! We are sorry to hear you didn't enjoy your round as much as you had hoped.

Deceptive
Starfire King provides a challenging layout, particularly the par 3's with play over water. The 16th dogleg left with water fronting the green is especially challenging.
Great Day of Golf
Had a great time at Starfire today. No complaints. Was able to play with a special green fees offer which made it all worthwhile. Using mats today on the range, but not a major issue.
