Starfire Golf Club - The King Course

When I say hard course, I am not referring to difficulty. The course is in rough shape .Fairways are like hard pan and no one seems to repair their pitch marks on the greens. Play was very slow, waited on every hole. The paths are not clearly marked so plenty of confusion as to which direction you need to go. All in all, not a pleasant experience.

For golf at non-municipal course in the Valley, Starfire is fine. Challenging enough for most mid-to-high handicappers. Tee boxes, fairways and greens all a bit too dry, but consistent throughout. Almost never finish in under 4.5-4.75 hours because of pace of play.

I understand trying to make money during high season and recoup money spent on course improvements but 8 min in between tee times is ridiculous. There were 3 foursomes lined up on hole 2!!!

The pace of play was very SLOW!! It took 2 and a half hours to play 9 holes.

I really feel badly in giving this a one star review, but the pace of play was that bad. It takes precedence over the other criteria for ;me.

The golf carts are unique....no windshields.

I have played 3 times over the past few weeks and have yet to see a started at the 1st hole

A cart broke down in the foursome ahead of us and the died in one of our cart by the 9th hole.

Carts are dirty and need some love.

Very disappointed in the condition of the course. Much of the course was dirt and mud. Even the overseeded areas we think and splotchy, especially around the greens on chips. Adding to the issue was paying $125 for a course this poor. The layout is nice, great location. The cost needs $1 or $2 mill dollars put into it.

Challenging holes and sprawling layout. Some fairways needed more grass and greens had a bunch of wear and tear. Enjoyable course close in to city so not a long trip to get there.

I rated this course a 2 star because of the following:

Inconsistent greens, hard dirt sand traps, rock hard tee boxes, uninteresting course layout and golf carts that are dirty and old.

Very disappointed in the course conditions: dirt sand traps, greens were uneven and hard, and tee boxes were hard as rock.

The course is in good shape, interesting layout but several water challenges. Some reviews mentioned slow play but course was not busy this day. Only complaint is that cart guys did not provide any information about where to start play although I said we had not played the course before. Started on the 9-hole course which is in the midst of construction before realizing our mistake.

Sadly this course has gone down hill. The tee boxes were rock hard. The sand traps were just dirt. The greens were inconsistent.

It’s an ok track. The course is a bit short at only 6100 from the tips but is fairly challenging

I enjoyed playing the course and the staff was very friendly. My only issue is the carts...they are horrible. The one I had groaned loudly every time I turned the steering wheel and I miss that there is no windshield.
