About
When the architect Rees Jones created the golf course at the Legend Trail Golf Club, he created a golf course that brings out the Old West-style air of Scottsdale and a fun and testing golf course with greens made of bent grass. It's a premium golf course smack dab in the Sonora Desert.
The golf course at the Legend Trail Golf Club features broad fairways, diminutive bunkering and tees placed on islands, and has been called one of the Top 100 golf courses by Golf Magazine. The magazine also gives Legend Trail 4.5 stars out of five among its
Best Places to Play, and has one of the Top 100 Woman-Friendly Fairways, according to Golf For Women magazine. Panoramas include local sites like Pinnacle Peak, and a round at Legend Trail Golf Club gives all levels of golfer several different shot-making options.
Golf a late-afternoon round on Friday or Saturday, and head back to the Trail's End Grill from 4 to 6 p.m. for specials on drinks and appetizers.

Dynamic Pricing for Phoenix Open Ouch!
Beautiful day for golf. I had 2 friends in from out of town to watch Phoenix Open and play golf. I selected Legend Trail back in November and phoned for tee time. I have played here multiple times over 15 years in the valley. I did not ask what the cost was because I have played here before. Imagine my surprise when I was told it was $325.00 for green fee. I had to apologize to my friends. Never have we paid so much before. The green fee was doubled what it should have been. VERY DISAPPOINTED with policy of dynamic pricing for tournament. Everything else was perfect that day except for shock of green fee.
You will love it!
Right from the bag drop, to the practice facility, to the perfectly manicured course/greens and on to the apres-golf beverage on the patio… fantastic! We’ll be back…
Waiting for 3 friends to join me from home in BC, decided to sneak in a round before they arrived. Course hooked me up with a husband and wife, and a fellow who knew the course well. A fabulous day all round.

Our day started with a few sprinkles from a lingering micro climate shower that transformed into a clear blue sky glowing sunset dotted with a few clouds. And the temps were in the upper 60's with just a few mild breezes. Couldn't ask for better conditions to play a course that was in terrific shape. The bunkers had very good sand that made play more predictable and fun especially with a fried egg on the front slope of a steep bunker. The greens were nicely maintained but seemed a tad slow compared to my play at other courses in the area. Will return soon to play a very nice course that tests your nerve, grit and gusto!
nice back nine - bland front nine...
the greens were noticeably slow and had many unfixed ball marks. other than that legend trail is in good shape not a fan of pairing singles up with the current covid numbers spiking...
Good value for Scottsdale location
Local knowledge would have been helpful. No one repairs ball marks, and therefore, greens were bumpy. Hate the gas carts. Nice layout which requires more than one round to score.
One of my new favorites
First time playing this course. The starter was helpful. Practice areas handy and adequate. Course is in great shape with beautiful views all around. Plenty of challenging primitive areas to clear off the copper tees. Walked the front but got a tow up several hilly holes on back nine just to stay up with my foursome. Great day of golf!
Great layout but slow and rough greens
This course is usually in great shape but this time the greens were really slow and rough. The rest of the course was in good shape and the layout is really fun.
