About
When the architect Rees Jones created the golf course at the Legend Trail Golf Club, he created a golf course that brings out the Old West-style air of Scottsdale and a fun and testing golf course with greens made of bent grass. It's a premium golf course smack dab in the Sonora Desert.
The golf course at the Legend Trail Golf Club features broad fairways, diminutive bunkering and tees placed on islands, and has been called one of the Top 100 golf courses by Golf Magazine. The magazine also gives Legend Trail 4.5 stars out of five among its
Best Places to Play, and has one of the Top 100 Woman-Friendly Fairways, according to Golf For Women magazine. Panoramas include local sites like Pinnacle Peak, and a round at Legend Trail Golf Club gives all levels of golfer several different shot-making options.
Golf a late-afternoon round on Friday or Saturday, and head back to the Trail's End Grill from 4 to 6 p.m. for specials on drinks and appetizers.

Back 9
Nice conditions and the greens were rolling smooth and fast. The back 9 has several holes that you need to keep the ball in play.
Good challenge
Back nine is tricky and you have to keep it in play. Course was firm and fast.
Great course layout, good challenge
We really enjoyed this course. Played in just a bit under 4 hours. On reflection after the round, it ticked the many boxes of a good course, nice people and support staff, but frankly what kept coming back to me is that the place is literally awash in cigarette butts, cigar castings, and even trash. That was very disappointing, We played We Ko Pa, Immaculate, we played Talking stick, again immaculate, we played SunRidge Canyon -- beyond immaculate and picturesque. If Legends wants to be known as a trash course where players do not clean up for themselves -- they are succeeding fantastically. They should have an initiative to have all the smokers and even non-smokers not only pick up their own butts but have a bounty for the scores of butt trash all over the course. They were in stream draws (Pollution for water), on tee boxes, in sand traps, on the greens -- everywhere. I've never seen such a plethora of cigarette and cigar waste on a course, shameful. By te way, I do smoke cigars, so this is not from someone against smoking, just the laziness of those leaving their trash for others ...
Avoid It
Too crowded. Groups 8 minutes apart. Slow. Good course resign, poorly maintained. Never saw a vary person in 18 holes. Very disappointing given the Reese Jones design. Single person owns it, the starter told us, going to 100% daily fee only play next year to maximize his income. Not run to please members— all annual memberships cancelled after this year.

Played five courses in a vacation to Scottsdale. This was a stand out as the best!
Dynamic Pricing for Phoenix Open Ouch!
Beautiful day for golf. I had 2 friends in from out of town to watch Phoenix Open and play golf. I selected Legend Trail back in November and phoned for tee time. I have played here multiple times over 15 years in the valley. I did not ask what the cost was because I have played here before. Imagine my surprise when I was told it was $325.00 for green fee. I had to apologize to my friends. Never have we paid so much before. The green fee was doubled what it should have been. VERY DISAPPOINTED with policy of dynamic pricing for tournament. Everything else was perfect that day except for shock of green fee.
