Legend Trail Golf Club
About
When the architect Rees Jones created the golf course at the Legend Trail Golf Club, he created a golf course that brings out the Old West-style air of Scottsdale and a fun and testing golf course with greens made of bent grass. It's a premium golf course smack dab in the Sonora Desert.
The golf course at the Legend Trail Golf Club features broad fairways, diminutive bunkering and tees placed on islands, and has been called one of the Top 100 golf courses by Golf Magazine. The magazine also gives Legend Trail 4.5 stars out of five among its
Best Places to Play, and has one of the Top 100 Woman-Friendly Fairways, according to Golf For Women magazine. Panoramas include local sites like Pinnacle Peak, and a round at Legend Trail Golf Club gives all levels of golfer several different shot-making options.
Golf a late-afternoon round on Friday or Saturday, and head back to the Trail's End Grill from 4 to 6 p.m. for specials on drinks and appetizers.

Another Great Hole Photo submitted by mhinkle on 09/23/2012
A new find for this golfer
I was impressed by the layout and conditioning of this gem. Nice practice area. Had a 2pm tee time all to myself on a hot afternoon and poked around in four hours just because I was enjoying myself so much. .I will admit to driving up and down #11 twice and hitting six different tee shots just trying to figure out where to go on this split fairway dogleg left with options. Get ready for some uneven lies on rolling fairways. Never saw so many baby quail anywhere else. I'll be back soon.
Great Experience Overall
Thoroughly enjoyed the course. However, it would've been much better, especially being our 1st time, if they had GPS on the carts or at the very least a course map on the scorecard - having to use an app on my phone constantly is cumbersome. Several holes are blind and it forces you to make a best guess at your shot. Also, the Marshall was ever present but it seemed as though his responsiblity was more to be seen than do anything about pace of play. 4.5 hrs is excruciatingly long - especially when you're always having wait after each hole for the group ahead to tee off. Not sure the Marshall ever said a word to them. Still, all in all, I would recommend this course and do plan to play here agsin.
Price switch
buy your drinks in club house. The cantina charges a dollar more.
The Eddie’s
It’s such a great place to enjoy and golf. Very pretty area and nice people.
Legend Trail Continues To Impress
At a time of the year when most courses have disappointing playing conditions, Legend Trail impresses. The course was aerated 2 weeks earlier and was in terrific condition this day. The fairways were lush, and the greens outstanding. The bunkers had nice sand, though they were a bit damp early in the AM. The pin placements were particularly challenging today, but well struck putts rolled beautifully. The pace of play was excellent as we finished our round in just over 4 hours and did not have to wait for any group ahead of us. We didn't feel pressed and could play at a comfortable pace. The customer service was excellent as usual. This is one of my go to courses in Scottsdale.
Play Legend Trails
We had a foursome play our regular $$$$$ game since our Private club was closed for maintenance. We had a wonderful time and the conditions were great for summer golf. Play this course & get your golf genes going--you will not be disappointed
Great Condition and wonderful Staff
The course is in Great condition. The Staff is super friendly and helpful. They know the course well and have nice tips on how to approach certain holes. The only thing I’m not a fan of is Mats on the driving range, But everything else about this course is Superb.
Legend Trail
Good course, great condition and a decent challenge from the silver tees!
Legend Trail
Pace of play was excellent, perhaps due to recent punching/sanding of greens. A good time!
NEEDS A RANGER
The course is a bit dry. The greens were bumpy, but not terrible. We got stuck behind a threesome who lagged behind 3-4 holes from the group in front of them. Once they finally let us through we flew through the rest of the holes as there was no one in sight anywhere.
Stop players from teeing off #10 unless it is after 4pm.
Singles have no priority on a golf course. Seems that when I play here in the summers, in the afternoon there are gentleman that tee off on number 10, or are singles that cause a pace and flow issue by flying around passing you up and/or cluttering and eventually Messing up the rhythm of the round. . I think the club has some sort of yearly or monthly membership program where they pay upfront and it allows unlimited play or cart fee only to jam as much golf in that a local can muster to play? A few times I have played here and teed off mid day, and play the front 9 in 1:30 minutes. Then all of a sudden the back nine is jammed up and with singles who are riding up your %%% or moving around trying to find a gap. The back 9 took 2.5 hours yesterday and it was all singles and twosomes from what I could see in front of us and behind us. We were passed by a twosome in two carts playing polo on 15, and another single on 17. I don’t mind playing in 4 hours but the problem is the disruption of the rhythm, and players trying to sneak in front, and trying to find a space moving around the course like they own the place disrupting play and/or filing gaps.
I suggest that nobody tees off the back 9 until after 4, or before 7:30am. Aside from this distraction the facility is overall consistently super throughout the year in all regards. My suggestion is a simple solution and fair to all the full paying golfers. This is why the game is best playing walking. Bottom line any good golfer knows what I am saying.
