Pinnacle at Troon North Golf Club
About
Pinnacle at Troon North represents a stunning, challenging golf experience blended into the high Desert's natural beauty with steep arroyos, natural washes and forests of saguaros and desert foliage. Portions of some fairways are hidden behind boulders and hills. Huge greens surrounded by large bunkers and sloping terrain challenge golfers on every approach shot.
A round of golf on the Pinnacle Course at the Troon North Golf Club kicks off on a par-4 hole that measures 392 yards from the Black tees. Things get crazy long on the 16th hole, a par 5 that plays to 609 yards from the Black tees. By that measure, the 18th hole will be a cakewalk, at par-4 and just 447 yards from the Black tee to the clubhouse.
After finishing the Pinnacle Course at Troon North Golf Club, head to the Grille, which offers a view of others trying to complete the course you've conquered, as well as the desert.

Breathtaking views, challenging holes
The course was incredible. We played during reseeding, so it was cart path only and quite soggy. But the course layout was incredible. Very challenging design that provided hazards for every tee box. Very hard for women who can’t drive 180 plus yards. No way to get on in two. But that’s half the fun. A challenge!
Great experience
Our first visit to Scottsdale and wanted to play a high quality course. Troon was a great choice. Excellent conditions, great layout and very scenic. Challenging without being overwhelming, and my wife was able to enjoy her round from the forward tees. Overall great experience
Pinnacle
The course layout was great but the conditions were terrible. The fairways were a mix of brown and green. I understand that the course was about to close for over seeding but for over $200 I made a bad choice of booking this course. I played at kierland and had a much better experience even with kierland going through the overseeding process on one of their three 9 holes.
Beautiful Desert Golf
I always love playing at Troon North when I come to Scottsdale and this was no different. End of September and the weather was absolutely perfect.
A week before shutting the course down for fall over seeding, greens were a bit wet and spongy compared to usual and practice range was closed.
Fantastic
Absolutely beautiful course played at a great Golf now Hotdeal rate. Very friendly staff, course in great shape for late summer and fantastic vistas. Play it if you get the chance.
So-so
Incredible layout, difficult course. Staff is all very friendly and accommodating. Conditions were very disappointing, greens had innumerable ball marks and interfered with putts, fairways had rough spots. Took around 6 hours to play 18 and I nearly missed my flight out of Phoenix. I was between playing at Troon and TPC Stadium and several people recommended Troon. I expected better overall. Conditions might be better later in the year?
First time
Nice layout first time playing this course typical desert course hitting from and too green grass over desert. Carries were acceptable. Rolling layout a lot of elevation change. Course was in transition with over seeding but over all not bad.
Greens rolled well but some were really potted.
Overall not bad would play again.
Greens like a moonscape
It was truly shocking the number of unrepaired ball marks on the greens. The greens looked like the far side of the moon. I have been golfing 40+ years and I have never seen anything close to it. I quickly gave up on fixing ball marks other than my own since it seemed pointless. Many of the marks were deep and fresh. Numerous bunkers had footprints that were not raked. I was shocked overall by the lack of regard for the course by the players there. There were some bare patches on the course and around some greens. The tee boxes were small and fairly hacked up. I paid more at Troon than at the 6 previous courses I played and yet it was in by far the worst condition. I was very disappointed. Other courses in the area will et my return business. Troon North won't sadly, even though it is the closest course to me.
elkvalley,
Thanks for playing Troon North. We do all we can to remind players to fix their ball marks throughout the round. We have an over concentrated amount of play on our Pinnacle Course due to the Monument being closed for new green renovation. Thus our tee boxes have received more play that usual. Thanks for your comments as they are valued and I hope you give us another try in the future.
to crowded
Took 5.5 hours to play, greens lightly sanded but still rolled good. Beer is to pricey. If it wasn't so crowded would be good, round was just to slow pace
Sorry for the slow play. We work hard through the Players Assistants' with players of all calibers to play a difficult course as fast as possible. I apologize for a slow day.
Best kept course I have seen in Phoenix so far this summer
We expected more from this highly rated facility.
Pace of play was slow, greens were top-dressed and fairways were far from prestine (Pinnacle Course). This is certainly a beautiful area but did not live up to my expectations for a Troon Golf facility.
Always Special
This course is always special to play, and presents a tremendous challenge. You must bring your A game when you play here, as there are tight fairways, long carries, and a variety of angles off the tee and for your approach shots. The greens were very well maintained, and super quick. The hot weather clearly had taken a toll on the course as there were many re-sodded areas around greens and fairways. But that didn't take away from the beauty of this course.
Slowest game ever
Course was great
Unfortunately the 5 hour round took the shine off
The Foursome infront of us put on a clinic on slow play.
The course marshal tried every means to speed them up but no dice.
Towards the end of the round groups farther back quit and drove past

Pickelt11,
Thanks for playing Troon North. Sorry Troon North didn't meet all your expectations. We did have a busy day and our rounds were behind our normal pace of 4:24. We were monitoring pace all the day. GPS lets us know that no rounds were over 5 hours. Our Pinnacle course has had his share of play with one course closed this summer and the long hot summer has taken a toll, but hope to have you out again for another try.
