Editor's Note: Course closed in 2018. See The Phoenician Golf Club listing.

The Desert/Oasis Course was the Phoenician's first 18 holes, which were later joined by the Canyon nine. The aptly named course may have desert surroundings but its numerous palm trees and blooming flowers will make golfers feel as though they've been transported to a tropical destination. Although all three golf courses cover only 150 acres, none of them feel cramped. Any lack of length is quickly forgotten after playing the creative challenges of the layout. The golf course offers plenty of variety that make it appealing to low and high handicappers alike. Dramatic elevation changes characterize the Desert nine, providing the breathtaking views that have led it to be the most requested course. The Oasis nine is memorable as well with water coming into play on six holes and a unique moat of sand on the par-4 finishing hole.

Great

The course as of 11/20 is in excellent condition. I play here quite a bit and the greens can get shaggy and bumpy. They are rolling as true as I can recall. Fairways And appearance are never an issue here. Beautiful. Saw the cart girl twice on both nines. Excellent service.

Round of my life

By far the prettiest course I’ve ever played. The ability to play music through the GPS was awesome. The course was in excellent condition and the views are amazing on the back 9. Will definitely have to play again.

Back nine is challenging and lots of fun!

The front nine feels crowded w all the construction and condos so close to the course.

Best course we played

My son and I had our first golf outing in the Phoenix area. We are both from the east coast and wanted to experience the desert courses. We played a number of courses in the Scottsdale area but The Phoenician was by far the best. The facilities, staff and course are top notch. The home construction adjacent to the various parts of the course can be a little off putting. At the same time that means progress and success for the resort so we were willing to put up with it. The course layout and vistas were spectacular. I would definitely recommend this course to everyone.

Stunning views. Impeccably manicured

Postcard views from most holes. Grounds crews everywhere constantly maintaining the course.

Only issue is lack of forewarning ( booked online . not through their website) that in October, carts on path only during fairway reseeding. Was difficult my mobility impaired partner who couldn't finish.

Must Play

This course had just recently opened up after reseeding, and it was excellent. From the practice facilities (range, chipping area and putting green), to tee boxes, fairways and greens on the course everything was in great condition. The weather was perfect, the staff was great and even the couple that I was paired with were all very nice. If you get a change this is a must play course. Highly recommended.

Not interesting or special

This is an expensive $170 resort course. It is not special; regardless of the high price. We also paid $50 for mediocre Callaway rental clubs. The wedge had seen way better days. The rest was OK at best. I would prefer rentals that at least give you a choice of mallet or blade. The carts were nice and the staff were awesome. The course was not green at all. It also plays short and was just not that interesting.

Amazing

The course was in great shape and the layout is spectacular. It’s a long drive from hole 9 to 10 but when you get there take it all in. The views on the back 9 are what Arizona golf is all about. It was a great morning of golf and will visit again on my next trip.
