Editor's Note: Course closed in 2018. See The Phoenician Golf Club listing.

The Desert/Oasis Course was the Phoenician's first 18 holes, which were later joined by the Canyon nine. The aptly named course may have desert surroundings but its numerous palm trees and blooming flowers will make golfers feel as though they've been transported to a tropical destination. Although all three golf courses cover only 150 acres, none of them feel cramped. Any lack of length is quickly forgotten after playing the creative challenges of the layout. The golf course offers plenty of variety that make it appealing to low and high handicappers alike. Dramatic elevation changes characterize the Desert nine, providing the breathtaking views that have led it to be the most requested course. The Oasis nine is memorable as well with water coming into play on six holes and a unique moat of sand on the par-4 finishing hole.

Great course, good value

My family and I had a great golf experience! Great views while playing, several photo opportunities. Only negative was the pro shop closed at 5:00. We would have much more business with them if we had the chance. Pleasantly surprised the beverage cart was still there for the entire round.

Still a favorite

Because they have three nines, the overseed on one course still allows you to play 18 holes of golf. The course is in great shape and the service is always top notch.

I was delayed 10 minutes on the tee time which is the first time that has ever happened.

If you are playing in Phoenix you need to check this course (and happy hour) out!

overseeding

The course was in pretty good shape. It will be torn up soon for overseeding, but the fairways were filled in nicely. The greens rolled well. We played the same nine twice. I did not mind this, but I did have a problem with the fact that the confirmation made no mention of the closure of the range. Most people rely on a warm up. The fee was expensive for playing the same nine twice and no range balls.

Impressive course!

Despite only being able to play the Canyon course 9 holes twice due to over-seeding on the other courses, we loved the Phoenician! Beautifully maintained, well marked course. Friendly and helpful staff.

We will be back!

Phoenician Golf

Great course in excellent shape. At times the slope of the fairways reminds me of golfing in Maui on the slopes of a volcano.

Very Pretty Course

Played Oasis/Desert. Course was in very good condition for September in Arizona. Bunkers were very good/excellent. Greens were consistent and firm enough. Fairways and rough were in good shape. And the visual appeal was high. The only negative was that much of the water on the course was dirty/stagnant in appearance, although I did not notice any mosquitoes or bad smell, so it must have been filtering a little bit.
This course was an excellent value for the money. The Phoenician is a top notch establishment, with great customer service. Overall, I would give this experience a 90-95%.

It's an ace!

The course is in great shape, especially for this time of year when many valley courses are feeling the stress of the long summer! A great course to bring your out of town friends, as the views are amazing! Very playable course, but yet can still give you a challenge if you play from the blacks, unless you are a single digit handicapper and long hitter, then you may find it a bit short for your liking.

Go before the rates go up, as it is one of the best values around this time of year!

The Phoenician

Hot summer at Phoenician

Course is in great shape, especially given Phoenix hot summer months. Greens were fast and rolled great. Only down side was that a beer on the course was $7.50 per can. Bit stiff for a beer.

The Phoenician is. A tough course

We player 8/23/15 108 degrees humid the. Cours is tough. Bring plenty of water and ice . They do provide bottle water and ice. I was surprised how tough this. Course. Was. Shot a 84. Which is worst in several years for me. I had a 77. At the. Badlands in Vegas which sows those familiar with courses. Just how hard the Phoenician is

SUPER NICE

WHAT A DEAL, CALL IT A STEAL. ON A BLISTERING ARIZONA SUNDAY PLAYING IN (AND ON) AN OASIS N A CAYNON. THIS COURSE WAS IN TOURNAMENT SHAPE. CHALLANGING, DECORATIVE HOLES AND FAST UNFORGIVING GREENS. THIS IS BY FAR ONE OF THE VALLEY'S FINEST VENUES. AND PROVIDING THE PRICE FITS MY LITTLEMAN BUDGET (SUMMER RATE OR TYPO ??? ) I WILL PLAY AGAIN AND AGAIN. IT IS EVEN WORTH THE EXECUTIVE RATES THAT MY BUDGET DOESNT ALLOW FOR...BUT IF IT DID...THIS WOULD BE MY HOME COURSE.

Slow

The facilities and the course are beautiful, but it was the worst pace of play I've ever seen. By the time we got to the third hole (par 3), there was one group on the green, one on the tee box and one waiting on the tee box. We were the 4th group on a single hole. The cart girl comes by and says it's backed up like this for the entire course. No ranger in sight to speed people up. Round took over 5 1/2 hours, and this wasn't an out of the ordinary day there.

Also, there is almost no drinking water to be seen on this course. When temperatures average 110 degrees, you should have water more than once every 9 holes.

Great Course

Great course, very friendly staff. Greens are very challenging, especially if you have longer putts. Recommend all golfers to at least play this course once. You can play it several times and it changes depending on what courses you play (Canyon, Oasis or Desert). Each 9 hole course offers a different challenge
