Talking Stick Golf Club - O'odham Course

The course was in good shape and it was a beautiful day.

The only negative was that the forward tees play a little long for my wife.

The greens were a shade above gray with little to no grass which is surprising for this time of the year. The pace was very slow and no ranger to be found

Overall the course was very good. The fairways had very generous width. Sand traps were plentiful but many were hard pan. Fairway condition was very good. Greens were large, very fast and moderately difficult. Speed of play was very good for a foursome.

Not being a gambler I had not been to T.S. Before. There are NO SIGNS directing you to the golf club! I Drove around for 15 min. And made a last ditch effort by driving to the end of the road, and there it is was! Ridiculous! Then the guy at the bag drop put my clubs on a cart and said I would find them down the hill behind the building. I said how will you know who's clubs to add to my cart? He said ask down there, he doesn't do that ! You would expect the golf shop to be in the front of the building, but NO! It is in the back with a dim sign above the door. After checking in the guy said to go out the door and down the steps to the back. What steps? They are down a hallway and not visible from the walkway! Finally walking down the cart path and getting my group together they sent us to the starter. But first I asked if they had cups for water. As extensive as this facility is they only had a water cooler, like the ones out on the course! The cups were not recognizable laying up on top of the cooler in a plastic bag, NO ice, NO covers! If I was paying full price I would be upset!
The Golf was great! Weird greens, super fast, like commercial carpeting; really hard to judge speeds of your putts! Just so different from most courses. Takes time to re-learn. Beautiful course, nice smooth fairways that don't break your back driving on them, a real plus! Thanks for the reasonable price! So tired of the gougers down here, so don't play as much as I used to. I played a few of the better known courses on my trip to Phoenix but one of my afternoons opened up and I was able to squeeze in another round. I booked a tee time at Talking Stick's north course because I was staying at the resort and had heard good things about the course. Not knowing what to expect I was pleasantly surprised. Good overall condition and some pretty unique holes. 14 was a fun one and there were even horses next to the fairway. I would definitely return of the price was right. Not worth the $115 or whatever they charge for the morning times but I paid $50 and felt like it was a good value.

Would not recommend this to any of my friends and will post this on Facebook.

Have played this course many times in the past and loved it
the amount of trash in the desert areas along with un raked bunkers slow play and an overall sense of apathy from the staff made this round one to talk about and not in a good way

The fairways were muddy and there was standing water in many of the traps. The other traps were dried mud. The greens were like concrete and the groundskeeper decided to put every pin on the side of a sloping hill. Someone should explain that this is not the Masters and the course should be challenging but fair. Overall, I played at a number of other courses around Phoenix/Scottsdale where the fairways were lush and the greens actually held your shot.

Played from the black tees. 7000 yards. Challenging. Greens firm & fast. Bunkers create most of the challenge. Not much elevation change. Staff was excellent - from the clubhouse check in to the cart guys to the beverage girl. Very friendly! Would definitely play again - great value.

Wide open; almost no trouble. Very fast greens with some very unfair pin placements, in fact, outrageous.

Fantastic Greens. Played 4 other course and Talking Stick North was in the best shape. Fairways were pure - Green were fast and smooth. A couple of tough pins but that is part of the gig there. I am a MN guy that goes to Scottsdale to play good but not overly expensive golf - and Talking Stick North - especially on Golfnow is a great price (but not cheap) and a phenomenal price.
Wished I would have played it all 5 days.

the greens were about the best i have ever seen.
fast, but true. the guy i played with dropped 3 or 4 putts over 25 feet.

we were a 2-some and never had to wait.

beautiful course and fairways and bunkers in great shape.

paid $85, which is at the top of my price range.

did not eat there.

definitely will be back.

Course was in excellent condition, the fairways had been overseeded so it was cartpaths only. A bit of a pain but understandable
Greens weren't overseeded and were in great shape and true from green to green. Nice layout, not the longest course around but still fun some challenges. Good value.

The course was beautiful, well groomed and maintained. Vistas were amazing. However, the only yardage indicators were scattered on sprinkler heads. No navigation or traditional, colored markers. Also, cart usage was restricted to cart path only for no apparent reason. This contributed to a slower pace of play and much hiking, whuch, combined with no markers, led often to not having the correct club for the shot. The fairways were in great shape, not a lot of moisture, and no standing water. 90° rule would have made a huge difference, but honestly, I couldn't see why full usage was not available. Unfortunately these few inconveniences turned a great day of golf into an average day.

Great driving range..friendly staff...course in good condition ..greens could be a little faster...had a couple of slow players joining us and the ranger did a good job trying to keep them moving...lunch in grill was excellent and pro shop had a nice selection of clothes

Everything satisfactory, but nothing special except golf course views . Good views of valley and landmarks. Overpriced !

Course was pretty full but we made it around in 4 hours. Excellent practice facility. Very good value for a simple course that is playable. Bermuda greens take some adjusting to if you are used to bent grass. Overall a fun day on a well kept course that is close to the many features of Scottsdale.

Talking Stick North was just OK, and I wouldn't play there again considering the great alternatives in the area. The course is very flat with very few interesting holes. And the greens were very grainy and bumpy. The pace of play, though was good and fast. And the staff was nice. But overall the course really was boring. Didn't feel like a nice resort course

Friendly and professional staff. The course was in great shape for this time of year. I will play here again!

My husband and I had a terrific time at the course however we must work on our handicap, which is presently OUR SWING! :-) We are going to get to work on it since the weather in Valley is returning to paradise temps and we get some lessons. We absolutely love to play!!!!!!
