Talking Stick Golf Club - Piipaash Course
About
The Talking Stick Golf Club, designed by Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw, offers two uniquely different courses that each offer many options according to your playing skill. The Piipaash course (previously known as South at Talking Stick Golf Club), with its tree-lined fairways and raised greens defended at the sides offers a more straightforward style of play than the O'odham Course (formerly known as North at Talking Stick Golf Club).
A round of golf on the Piipaash Course at the Talking Stick Golf Club kicks off on a par-4 hole that measures 405 yards from the Black tees. Three long par-5 holes ensures that power golfers will get their kicks, with the fifth hole coming in at 516 yards, the 1fourth measuring 541 and the 16th playing to 548. The round of golf concludes on a relatively shorter par 4 that measures 323 yards.
After a round of golf on the North Course at the Talking Stick Golf Club, head back to the Wildhorse Grille for drinks and a bite to eat.

Mr . Bhakta
It was great playing this course . I would like to come back play this again .
Easy course
They take very good care of this course. It’s a resort course and all fairways are absolutely huge. Tee boxes are ok, which means much better than most. We played the Grand the other day and their tee boxes are horrible. Not one level and very little grass. One had no grass at all. Talking Stick South is very flat, so good if you want to walk. You almost can’t lose a ball, so pace of play is very good. $70 - $80 would be a fair price, but like other courses, the hey are taking advantage of the current boon of new golfers. They can get it, so they do.
Talking about Talking Stick
Booked a Saturday round at Talking Stick on Golf Now website...hadn’t played this particular course previously...there are two courses here...the range was packed...the balls are included with your round...the rangers and starters are very friendly...the course is in great shape especially the tees and greens...had a great time ...we’ll be back!
Slow Slow Slow
Took 5.5 hours to play 18. While the course and staff were great, unless they get the pace under control I would avoid.
Resort was well-staffed with very courteous people with excellents golf courses!
Very slow - stopped at 9-holes.
No GPS on carts
No windshield on. one cart
No pencils for scorecard
No ball washers
Driving range and course overloaded
Worth a visit
The course was in great shape and worth the visit. The only drawback was the length of time it took to play. Too many golfers were crammed on the course. It i read more reviews with the same issue I'd be concerned.
No one cared that we paid this much to play
Don’t expect a welcome mat. From no parking in the lot to then being scolded we were late to only find out they wanted us to tee off 10 minutes early. Of course in the meantime we lost our food and beverage privilege and we are writing this on the six hole as we wait 10 minutes from the group ahead of us and contemplating whether we were gonna leave the course altogether and never come back.
Definitely expect a municipal type service. I play 4 to 5 days a week and this is the poorest value I’ve had in the last two years. So much for being a hotel guest.
Meh
It's a golf course. I didn't pay a lot to play it so I'm not heartbroken I was underwhelmed.
One of the rating criteria is staff friendliness. And I have to say that when I checked in, the staff member did not look at me address me say hello to me or say even one word to me. He just took my money and gave me my receipt and sent me to the starter. It really got my experience off on a bad foot. I felt like he was being kind of snobbish.
The single most annoying thing about this golf course is that the entire time a group of four drunks was riding around the course hitting golf balls blasting music from a boombox. I've never seen anything like it. And there was not even a staff member anywhere around that I could ask to ask them to be quiet. I mean this is not Dogpatch municipal. This holds itself out as a resort course in a resort destination. And it's really unacceptable to have that behavior go not only uncorrected but unaddressed entirely. It just doesn't belong on a golf course.
The course itself was just bland. Meh. Nothing sticks out in my memory, nothing made me go wow, I just remember it was 18 holes each one of them with the tee box at the beginning and a green at the end with a hole and a flagstick in it. So, it's a golf course, you can play 18 holes on it, but in my mind don't be expected to be overwhelmed. It's a very underwhelming course.
On a positive note, the practice facilities are excellent. It's one of the largest driving ranges I've ever seen. And the views on the back nine were fairly spectacular as the sun was setting. There was also a lot of wildlife to observe, we saw a herd of wild horses running through the desert, and a bunch of coyotes run across the golf course. That was pretty cool.
Fabulous course
The scenery was beautiful. Fairway, rough and greens were in good condition, however, sand traps could be more sand. Nice driving range but putting green could have had more holes cut in.
Mediocre course for the price
Generous fairways, but uninteresting layout, not very memorable holes. Every hole seems much like the last. Great condition, but there are better alternatives for the same money.
Afternoon Rate/Pace of play
We played at 2:18, got a decent rate. We were paired up with a father and son and as a foursome we waited on almost every hole. We played the back nine by ourselves and continued to wait on every shot. By 6:30 we were on the 17th hole and it got very cold once the sun went down. We did not finish our round. Left after completing the 17th hole. Had we finished, it would have been a 4.5 hour round.
