The Talking Stick Golf Club, designed by Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw, offers two uniquely different courses that each offer many options according to your playing skill. The Piipaash course (previously known as South at Talking Stick Golf Club), with its tree-lined fairways and raised greens defended at the sides offers a more straightforward style of play than the O'odham Course (formerly known as North at Talking Stick Golf Club).

A round of golf on the Piipaash Course at the Talking Stick Golf Club kicks off on a par-4 hole that measures 405 yards from the Black tees. Three long par-5 holes ensures that power golfers will get their kicks, with the fifth hole coming in at 516 yards, the 1fourth measuring 541 and the 16th playing to 548. The round of golf concludes on a relatively shorter par 4 that measures 323 yards.

After a round of golf on the North Course at the Talking Stick Golf Club, head back to the Wildhorse Grille for drinks and a bite to eat.

Nice facility. Good for your golf ego

Conditions were great. Greens consistent. It’s very wide open so you can get after the driver here. Some interesting holes but not a lot of creativity in the layout. Coldest draft beer ever in the lounge! Kudos!

Unfriendly Ranger...Rapid Pace of Play

First time playing course...finished front nine under two hours. Ranger met us on 10th tee box and told us we needed to speed our pace or let other groups behind us play through?! He was both sarcastic and belligerent. By the 12 hole we were stacked 5 groups deep! Felt like we were being herded...like he wanted us to play sprint golf. Didn't feel like we could pause for restroom break or a beverage...that we would be holding up play. The round was a blur. Out of five rounds we played while there, this one was by far the most expensive and least enjoyable. Staff training with a PR component would be my suggestion. I'm sure this will fall on deaf ears...what a waste of time and $$$!!

Solid Resort Type Course

Generous fairways, good condition make this a good course for the Hot Deal value. Not sure if I would have still felt that ways if I had paid full price. It was great for a winter round for this Northerner while attending the WMPO. Average layout, but no real memorable holes, but I was happy to be out playing golf! Hit the casino adjacent to the course, which was a bonus!

Below Average for the Price

The course was extremely busy, slow and in below average conditions. There are a lot of deep bunkers, but they have no playable sand and many were still soggy/muddy late in the day. The fairways are green, but the grass is so short you might as well be playing on the dirt. The driving range is large but also has very little grass to play off of. The layout is good and very forgiving as in many resort courses.

Early tee time pace is great.

Course is wide. Play early and you'll be ok with the pace. We need of around 9. Greens fast n firm if you like that.

Timeless, fun golf

If Talking Stick’s O’odham course is Coore & Crenshaw’s ode to Donald Ross, Piipaash is their ode to A.W. Tillinghast, with undulating greens that tend to flow upward out of the fairway run-ups, rather than the more prevalent false fronts of its sister golf course. Post-overseed conditions just aren’t as fun as when the underlying Bermuda grass is allowed to be dry and firm, but between the variety of holes and the ease of walkability, Talking Stick is one of the Phoenix/Scottsdale area’s best places to play golf.
