About
Hillcrest Golf Club possesses a championship length course that offers a great variety of game options with five sets of tees. The course has a traditional design that features open fairways lined with trees, which put a premium on straight shots. The greens vary greatly with some that are relatively flat and medium sized and others that are quite large and dramatically sloped or multi-tiered. In addition to several sand bunkers, water hazards in the forms of lakes and ponds come into play. The signature hole is the par-5 13th, which has been touted by the Phoenix Gazette as being on of the best holes in the state. Hillcrest Golf Club not only has a dogleg around a lake, the hole requires an approach shot uphill to a green that is guarded by eight bunkers.

Course conditions
This course continues to be in terrible shape. Tee boxes were so hard you couldn't put a tee in the ground in spots. Large areas were just bare dirt. Traps were crusty dirt.
Rude staff and busy
If you want 7 minute tee times and start 20 minutes after your appointed tee time. And play 9 holes in 3 hours this is the course for you, if not, I would stay far away from this place I will never be back again. Rude staff
Nice layout greens are great some dirt areas but playing area is nice would recommend
Not Bad
Had a fun time playing. Fairways are nice and wide, but don’t miss them because the rough and fairway bunkers have been a little neglected. Tee boxes need some help too. That being said the staff was really friendly and the experience was nice.
Better than reviews
The negatives are that the off the fairway or greens is in rough condition. Your basically hitting from dirt. And the bunkers are typically rock hard.
But the layout is good, fairways and greens in good to great condition. Pace of play on a Tuesday afternoon was just over four hours.
So for the price very decent, I'd go back for a discount rate for sure

Pace of play 6 hours plus
Tee’d off at 11, finished first 9 in 3 hours. They have a ranger but he’s literally worthless. Worst round I’ve played this winter by far. Saw cart girls twice in 6 hours. Idk how that’s possible. Fairways in okay condition. I would stay away from this course they pack you in 7 minutes apart on tee times. Group on tee, fairway, and green all day. Sad. Ended round around 540. Never coming back

Enjoyed the combination of Long par fives and Good par threes. Definitely would recommend coming to play the course

I think it’s a great course and a big bang for the buck. Course very maintained and the cart girl comes by every 3 holes.
