About
Hillcrest Golf Club possesses a championship length course that offers a great variety of game options with five sets of tees. The course has a traditional design that features open fairways lined with trees, which put a premium on straight shots. The greens vary greatly with some that are relatively flat and medium sized and others that are quite large and dramatically sloped or multi-tiered. In addition to several sand bunkers, water hazards in the forms of lakes and ponds come into play. The signature hole is the par-5 13th, which has been touted by the Phoenix Gazette as being on of the best holes in the state. Hillcrest Golf Club not only has a dogleg around a lake, the hole requires an approach shot uphill to a green that is guarded by eight bunkers.

Lost in Golf
Actually besides the water stations, the scenery was better than TPC Scottsdale champions course.
Golf course condition
Fairways, tee boxes and greens were all in good condition. The sand traps however were absolutely terrible. Traps were hard as concrete and loaded with stones. They should remove the traps or spend the money for real sand.
Great course to get your bang for your buck
Not a bad course, paid 60 for 18 and a cart. Staff was nice, and friendly. Course was not bad condition wise, fairways and greens were good, just rough and bunkers were not great. Enjoyed playing there, and hope in summer time the course conditions will be in better shape.
Had good time
We were fortunate to be paired with awesome couple of men .. friendly and good golfers
Course was in Excellent shape played here last year hardly any grass on greens and Fairways, this year totally opposite Greens were Great and so were the Fairways was glad to here they hired a new Superintendent definitely recommend
Pace of play
Get rid of the Marshall that can’t move people around for fear of ‘ upsetting them’, even if they are regulars we had to yell at the group to get off the green and talk elsewhere. Five hours is Un acceptable even for a public course , especially with marshals
Worth the price.
The weather was unseasonably cold and wet. The course was very wet due to all the rain but it was in fairly good shape. We we able to use the cart when every other course in the area was walking only.
The wind was wicked and therefore, we were bundled up and didn't score well. However, we were happy to have had the opportunity to play that cold windy day!
Hillcrest
This. Course used to be a Sr. Tour and LPGA stop. Thus I love the layout. The course has seen much better days (bunkers are cement) but it is a very enjoyable course for mid handicappers. This year was the best shape I have ever seen the fairways and greens ion (slow though). Also very reasonable cost, $140 for my wife and I plus cart. And bonus, played in 3 hrs!!
Decent fairways and greens
Course was in better shape than when we played here last year… smoother greens and more grass in the fairways. Off the fairways, though, are still in rough shape… the rough is dormant now, but looks better than last year, lots of bare dirt in places. Tee boxes are a mix.. some OK, some pretty beat up.
Pro shop guy and starter were both friendly and welcoming. Pace of 0lay was good, right at 4 hours.
