Hillcrest Golf Club at Sun City West

For a decent deal on green fees. Course in good shape. Bunkers were a bit hard and could use better sand. They are replacing ball washers and getting more bathroom facilities. Still a fun track!

We enjoyed playing Hillcrest. Pace of play is great given course tee setups. If you miss fairway the course is more like a pasture, ha. But fairways and greens were in excellent shape.

Hillcrest is a gem that has sadly lost its former glory. This course used to host a Champions Tour event. Though the fairways and greens are playable, the rough is usually barren hardpan or whispy grass. The cart path is often laden with deep holes, tire tracks or mud puddles. I assume the course simply doesn’t have the resources to upgrade the rough areas. It certainly has a following as the course was full on a Friday afternoon. Maybe an investor will come along and throw some money at this course someday.

Fairways were good. Greens were rolling good. Fun coarse to play.

I am a senior golfer that plays whites, not super long off the ters but not ready for golds. That being said i found the back 9 to be longer to the flag than typical. Made pars a real challenge for me.

The course maintained very well. Course is forgiving in the fact that there really is not a rough. If you can't keep it on the fairway but close, the 2nd shot is not a problem off the short dry grass.

Overall a very nice outing for the cost on my golfnow app.

The fairways and greens were in perfect shape. The course layout is challenging for all levels of play. I will bring friends out to play here.

The staff who rode on his cart like a babysitter / sheriff kept just driving by and looking at us play from a far . We had a good pace we were right behind the next group. If we would had accelerated our pace we would have been riding on the next groups behind. Which is rude and dangerous. Aside from this great course

It just not worth the $70 dollars

If you are just beginner golfers I guess is okay

But if you are looking for golf courses that you can talk about in later with your friends look somewhere else

I rated this course condition "fair" because of the bunkers, which should be listed as GUR. The overall layout is great and the greens were very good. I like this cousre and play it often, but as mentioned, the bunkers are unplayable.

The course is in decent shape however the level of play needs to be checked by a Marshall from time to time or golf etiquette needs to be instituted. Pace of play there was awful and would not be tolerated at other courses.

The greens and fairways were coming in nicely with the winter overseed. However, If you missed the fairway or the green, you were mostly in dirt. The beauty of the course was overwhelmed by the expanse of dirt everywhere. I've never seen a good course look so bad. They need a plan for what to do with this ridiculous situation. No other course in greater phoenix has anything like this.
