Hillcrest Golf Club at Sun City West

The course is still cart path only and needs a lot maintenance

Fairways and greens were in good shape but bunkers were awful. All in all bang for your buck was not bad at all!

I have played Hillcrest about a dozen times in the last couple of years and it is always fun. Great design, challenging greens and lots of elevation change especially on the back 9. Fairways and greens are in great shape. 4 1/2 hours today. Will play here again!

Bunkers were basically ground under repair; i.e., unplayable.

Well if you like to golf and swing your club with not 1 but 2 lawn mowers chasing you down, this is the place. If you like to golf and swing your ball among a lawn sprinkler and get wet, this is also your place. Although the front end staff was very friendly. I was shocked at the lawn mower etiquette happening here. You travel to go on vacation and pay good money to have this. You feel they don’t care about your experience. I would never go here again. Apparently yet talking to a local gentleman, this is the only course where they feel they are able to disrupt your golf game and they don’t care.

Hill rest is a good course . Provide good value for the price . Friendly staff .

it is a long and wide course where you can use driver on all par 4s and 5s, greens are challenging and an old professional tour stop. great prices as well.

Mow the rough better, some holes yardage is way off. The overseesing is done and the greens look great. I’ll be back in three weeks and expect things to be better

Course is in great shape after the reseed. Staff was fantastic course does need new sand in the bunkers we played rake and place. Great time

The course was definitely recently seeded for winter so it was under some rough conditions, but the back 9 was worth it. The front was 9 was almost unacceptable how wet and poor it was. All in all, I am a beginner and was grateful to have a course that was cheap. Lastly, GolfNow somehow isn’t connecting with this course, so beware because the front desk receptionist couldn’t find our reservation, even though I had the rate and times to prove. The employee made it right and even saved us a few dollars on the tee time.

Fairways were mowed so high your ball can disappear and not be found. Granted: early morning light and playing a yellow ball, but this was like 1st cut of rough deep. Greens were correspondingly slow. Driving range boxes were on an uphill... all of them! Can't believe the members stand for this.

Bunkers were mud and unplayable. Greens were super slow. Fairway grass as long as the rough. None of the landscaping is kept up including the palm trees. I could see where this course would have some potential but I would not recommend playing there unless you are a beginner or a hack.

“Fairways” were mowed like rough in most places I’ve ever played in this country, deeper than first cut of rough in most places I’ve played. It was early morning and I lost 3 balls in the fairway because I played a green ball that would drop down halfway in the deep fairway grass. Imagine trying to closely watch every shot you hit because you know you won’t find it. Bunkers filled with water. Greens mowed like normal fairways, so slowwwww. Driving range boxes we’re on an uphill… ridiculous for trying to get your distance for the day. Ridiculous to have to hunt for your ball after every single shot except when it was visible on the green. Staff was nice. Course conditions were poor beyond belief.

The sand traps are the scores need a lot of work. The scorecard yardage is so far off as to be ridiculous
