Grass Clippings at Rolling Hills
About
The executive-length Grass Clippings at Rolling Hills (formerly known as Rolling Hills Golf Course) provides an excellent game and it is a very player-friendly course. True to its name, the course is quite hilly causing a few elevation changes and undulating greens. The fairways are lined with pretty trees, adding some challenge and beauty to the course. There are no water hazards but there are a few strategically placed bunkers to worry about as well as some out-of-bounds stakes bordering a few of the holes. Grass Clippings at Rolling Hills consists of ten par 3s and eight par 4s. On the premises there are also practice facilities, a pro shop, and an on-site golf pro.

Fun course, well kept and great layout
The course is well maintained.Rolling greens, elevated tee boxes and greens.
Gear course for working on your irons.
I will definitely play here again, and will try the nighttime play soon.
Fun executive course with great amenities
The front nine was less interesting than the back. The course appears to be under renovations. Most of the first nine holes we were hitting off of mats. However, the greens were in good condition. The outdoor bar and restaurant are fabulous which made for a fun afternoon. We will definitely be back.
Not what we expected
So many beginners which is fine but they need golf etiquette. Fathet and son in front of us would not 4 balls off the tee.
Cart girl did not come by us even though she saw us wave her over. We were told her cart was running out of juice but she drove further from club house and she could have stopped and we walk to her
Fine at best
I had a mid morning sunday round. Staff was friendly, but not helpful. Clubhouse staff just said "you paid, have fun". How about cart info, range info, where to go....? Someone outside eventually said "just throw the bag on any cart". So I did, then began diving to the range, only to be told carts won't fit down there, bring the clubs you need. I wouldn't have loaded the bag then... Again, some info earlier on could have prevented this. Oh, and range is limited to 200 yards.
The round took 4 hours, waiting on most shots. Tee boxes are hacked up and not level. Water in most of the cups. No ball washers anywhere, so take advantage of the wet cups to wash your balls. The beverage girl was nice, and the newly opened restaurant was the highlight of the day. Food and drink was fantastic.
I will be back for the restaurant, but you could have a much better golf experience at so many other places. For a fraction of the price I would maybe be back, but I deeply regret not spending a few bucks more, driving further and playing a premier course. Seems the sole draw of this place is the central location, and the night golf.
Great time!
Course is in great shape. Had a blast. Greens were touch on the front but settled a bit on the back. Go, you’ll have fun!
Could be a great course. Large groups seemingly encouraged.
I’ve played this course about 10 times since they have reopened. I like the routing of the holes. The greens are generally in good shape, but require a watchful eye. They’re quick with obvious (and subtle) breaks. Here is the biggest problem that I have with the course. They allow, even seem to encourage large groups playing together. Starting today on the 10th, my 4-some had 6 golfers in front of us. I asked after they tee’d off if they were playing as a 3/3. They told me no, they were playing all together and would be playing a scramble. Off they went. We played the hole, and then 2 more golfers, each itch their own golf cart showed up and joined. Now, it was an 8-some. We spoke to the 2-some behind us and they were a bit irritated, but accepted they were in for a long round. 3 holes later, they had enough and one of them decided that he was going to talk to them. Voices were raised, angry words spoken and the fun day of golf was over.
Inwalked in, informed the folks in the pro shop that they had an 8-some on the course and they told me that they allowed large groups on the course as long as they kept the pace. They also noted that they were 5 minutes behind. The person I spoke to in the pro shop was unapologetic, absolutely not interested in the etiquette of golf and wasn’t going to try to break the group up. He did offer me a rain check, but I refused.
Joined friends for 18 and cold refreshments afterwards. The course has potential for much more. Hoping the new owners see the potential it can offer.
Challenging Executive Course
Elevated greens made this short course challenging. The greens were fast and fair.
Since when did groups of 5 or 6 become allowed on a golf course
A generally pleasant day on a muni was ruined when we caught up with a group of 5. Sitting on the tee for 10-15 mins waiting is not right. I gave up.
I complained at the shop where I was told they accept groups of 5 &6
But the greens and fairways were good but just dirt and rocks if you stray off line.
There were also a couple of close shaves with ball flying over us from other holes.
Cost reflects all this of course but I wouldn't go back.
