Forty-Niner Country Club
About
Situated between the Catalina and Rincon Mountains, Forty Niner Country Club runs alongside a wooded riverbed. The golf course features fairways lined with mesquites, giant cottonwoods, eucalyptus trees, and weeping willows. Desert shrubbery also lines the fairways. The course has a traditional layout that sprawls across gently rolling terrain. It's a nice walkable golf course but it's not easy. Rather than distance, this course requires accurate shot placement and careful strategy in order to maneuver the tricky doglegs and subtly elevated greens. The most difficult hole on the course comes early on. The par-4 fifth is an only seemingly narrow hole but the double-tiered green has a dramatic slope right in the center. Forty Niner Country Club finishes with a par 3 that requires a carry over water. If played smartly, it offers a great birdie opportunity.

Golf at 49ers
It is a beautiful course , well maintained. The pace was really sliw- but it was a holiday, still it was slow. They would benefit with a course marshal to keep things moving along

Weather was great
With great weather, no waiting on course and a great couple to round out our foursome , what more can you ask for.
Straight forward, but some challenges
The fairways were in good condition, the green not too bad for winter, very fast. Pace of play was ok. Fairways are narrow with trees in play at the margins on some holes. Rough was pretty much good nothing but bare, sandy earth with some gravel but no large rocks. I would play it again
Change in Policy at 49er??
The course was in reasonable condition although somewhat wet in many fairway areas. Greens were difficult to read as some were slower than others creating speed questions. Having played this course many times, I was amazed at how many "walkers" I saw on the course. I don't remember this in years past. The result was considerable slow play, which is not a characteristic I enjoy. With this in mind, the course (not the slow play) is fun to play.
The hole course is in poor condition. The place is not worth it unless you get a deal on GolfNow or some other platform and that might not make it worth it. I hope management sees this, find some pride and get this place in decent condition.
