About
Situated between the Catalina and Rincon Mountains, Forty Niner Country Club runs alongside a wooded riverbed. The golf course features fairways lined with mesquites, giant cottonwoods, eucalyptus trees, and weeping willows. Desert shrubbery also lines the fairways. The course has a traditional layout that sprawls across gently rolling terrain. It's a nice walkable golf course but it's not easy. Rather than distance, this course requires accurate shot placement and careful strategy in order to maneuver the tricky doglegs and subtly elevated greens. The most difficult hole on the course comes early on. The par-4 fifth is an only seemingly narrow hole but the double-tiered green has a dramatic slope right in the center. Forty Niner Country Club finishes with a par 3 that requires a carry over water. If played smartly, it offers a great birdie opportunity.

Great course fair pace 4 hrs for 18..
Course and green s in good lush conditions, a tad wet in areas from irrigation. We played at 1 pm on a warm day.. staff were pleasant and professional.
We did the restaurant afterwards with a pitcher of beer.. $20. Overall good value. This makes my 2nd AZ golf experience.

Course has improved
We struggled with the conditions of the course last year, but this year it’s apparent they have worked har dot make improvements. Greens are still a little Sandy after overseeing but running true. Still some tough spots on the tee boxes and a few fairways, but have top dressed to help improve. Would play it again.
Nice course - but the overseeding made for lots of mud on the ball.

For the money, this course is a great bargain. Courses in great shape and the pace of play was fantastic.

Love this course and the staff is always very professional and friendly.
Poor Conditions
Tee boxes,fairways and greens all in poor condition. Have played 7 local courses in recent days and this by far was the worst. The round took 4hr 45 minutes we waited on every tee box. Tried the club house for a light dinner after the round and the food was inedible. We will not be returning.
