Forty-Niner Country Club
About
Situated between the Catalina and Rincon Mountains, Forty Niner Country Club runs alongside a wooded riverbed. The golf course features fairways lined with mesquites, giant cottonwoods, eucalyptus trees, and weeping willows. Desert shrubbery also lines the fairways. The course has a traditional layout that sprawls across gently rolling terrain. It's a nice walkable golf course but it's not easy. Rather than distance, this course requires accurate shot placement and careful strategy in order to maneuver the tricky doglegs and subtly elevated greens. The most difficult hole on the course comes early on. The par-4 fifth is an only seemingly narrow hole but the double-tiered green has a dramatic slope right in the center. Forty Niner Country Club finishes with a par 3 that requires a carry over water. If played smartly, it offers a great birdie opportunity.

Always a good time
Was a few minutes late to tee time made the call to let them know , they were super understanding and got me in and out to the tee box always enjoy my round at forty niners . Thanks for having me !
Every time I play this course, I’m reminded why I shouldn’t come back
This course is a bit of a goofy layout, but it could be a great blue collar golf club. This screams of a situation where a change of ownership and capital infusion is needed. The course conditions have been garbage every time I’ve played there.
If the conditions were even consistently mediocre, I would get a family membership at this club. It’s within 10 minutes of my house, and a good enough layout for everyday play. But tee to green, the conditions are poor, and are what you would expect at a low quality municipal course.
So much wasted potential.
Nice Break From Desert Layouts
Fun course. It’s a nice break from all of the desert style courses in the area. Really nice staff. Average course conditions. Definitely worth the green fee. Will play again.
Great day
Love this course , got in 32 holes. Little rain and mostly shine. Dinner was great at the grill.
LOve this course
We love the 49ers club. Very amazing staff and fun course.
Quick 3–4 hr course
Some greens were questionable but the overall experience was a nice.
A Challenge Awaits You
Fairways and tee boxes in good condition, but the greens were hard as rock and somewhat bumpy. Hitting greens did not leave ball marks. Green speed was much greater than it appeared. Overall, the course was enjoyable and does provide many shot challenges on every hole.
Horribly overrated
Upon arrival, staff was very unfriendly and impatient with me regarding their online check in feature with GolfNow. I had never used it before, and the employee in the pro shop had a huge attitude towards me with this situation, for whatever reason. Once I eventually figured out the online check-in, I teed off and was immediately underwhelmed with the course conditions and the layout. I had heard nothing but great things about this course and was excited to try it out, and it's safe to say I will never be returning. Tee boxes were in horrendous conditions, greens were rock solid and felt like turf, bunkers were filled with rocks, and there were multiple old and un-repaired divots in the fairway. Course layout was fine at best, some holes were fun and easy while others seemed unnecessarily difficult for a local, municipal-type course. Don't even get em started on how overpriced the course was considering everything I just listed. Should be a $20 course at most. Absolutely horrible, there are at least 20 better courses in Tucson I'd recommend before this one.
Fun Course
Beautiful weather, course in great shape, met 2 nice guys to play with. Throughly enjoyed our day!
