About
Situated between the Catalina and Rincon Mountains, Forty Niner Country Club runs alongside a wooded riverbed. The golf course features fairways lined with mesquites, giant cottonwoods, eucalyptus trees, and weeping willows. Desert shrubbery also lines the fairways. The course has a traditional layout that sprawls across gently rolling terrain. It's a nice walkable golf course but it's not easy. Rather than distance, this course requires accurate shot placement and careful strategy in order to maneuver the tricky doglegs and subtly elevated greens. The most difficult hole on the course comes early on. The par-4 fifth is an only seemingly narrow hole but the double-tiered green has a dramatic slope right in the center. Forty Niner Country Club finishes with a par 3 that requires a carry over water. If played smartly, it offers a great birdie opportunity.

Course Conditions Questionable
Front nine tee boxes, fairways, & greens very dry and inconsistent. Back nine appeared to have been watered recently, which made playability better. Bunkers were terrible with hard pan for sand and in some cases muddy. The course is good, but conditions could have been much better.
Maybe aeriation and course maintenance are coming? Hope so. Will hold off playing again to see how things go at the course.

Love this course, looking better everyday this summer. Green are slowing down and softening . Making for better approaches. Staff is always right on point. Very friendly and courteous.

Played this course many times now. Greens are looking great and the staff is amazing. They take good care of you there.
49ers continues to struggle
Tee boxes like sandboxes. Just terrible. Fairways hit and miss with a lot of issues. Can they water the bunkers so it's not like hitting out of hard cement?

Awesome staff, greens are very nice, fairways a little rough for a rookie like me, beautiful course fast play. I've played here several times and considered it my home course
49ers golf course
The course was in pretty solid shape. Some tee boxes were being worked on, but other than that the course looked and played well. It was not crowded and the pace was great. Finished all 18 just shy of 4 hours. The staff was friendly and everything was clean. Had a good time. Can’t beat the rate. Highly recommended.

Got to play with just my wife and the pace was perfect for us to practice our shots in real situations.

Nice
Good course layout with nice wide fairways and lots of trees. They take good care of this course. It's a bit of a distance from town but is nice and quiet out here.
