Fun Muni
Always fun and challenging. I'm a 14 handicap who drives ball around 200 yds. Unless you drive the ball at least 230-240 I would play the red tees. Very long course but challenging. White tees approx 6400 yards.
IT'S IN THE MIDDLE OF THE CITY
I've played this course twice now....both times it was great. For the most part, the challenge in the fairways. However, the greens are a little quick and interesting. Bunkers are well placed and the water hazards are actually just a part of the scenery and the irrigation system.
The place is a short ride from any where and well worth the money. In Tuscon? play here... you could pay a lot more for a lot less.
Punched - Oh Well !
Randolph greens are normally some of the best of all the munis in the area. But not this month, they have been areated and are rolling about 4 on the stimp-meter. This is just something that needs done twice a year, so no whining. I'm sure they will be fine in September, then it will be overseeding time after that. I decided to upgrade the course conditions to Average 'cause the fairways and tee boxes were very good. The rough is thick as you would expect during monsoons and serves as a penalty for missing fairways, adding to the overall challenge. We still like Randolph, seeya next month !
don't play it now
had great hopes for OB golf taking over rough is longer then open roof greens are bumpy very little sand in the bunkers probably a good idea to wait until after the monsoons and they get some new mowers
30.00 all I could play. 36 holes and barely sweat. great.
Thankful to God for this course so close to home. I only get to play about every 3 months. Not nearly enough.
randolf north
Wasnt to bad the guy checking me in didnt believe me about my golf now rate so jad to hunt that down and the rough is like 4 inches thick! Otherwise was an amazing course for 15 bucks definitely plan on coming back. Caddys are very nice also. Recommended course for under 20 bucks
Nice change
The coarse has changed alot for the better, One of the few golf coarses with huge trees for shade.
Solid Public Course
This is an above average public golf course. Actually two 18 hole courses side by side. I recently moved to the neighborhood and I have been well pleased with the quality of the course, clubhouse and additional facilities. Tennis, racquetball and swimming plus a community arts center and zoo are all located on the sprawling grounds. But the centerpiece is the two courses, Randolf North and Del Urich. Randolf is the longer more moderate course and Del Urich is the shorter but more challenging course. Both were part of the reason I choose to live nearby.
GREENS ARE IN GOOD SHAPE
GREENS AND FAIRWAYS IN GOOD SHAPE AND ROUGH JUST MOWED. COMPARED TO PAST YEARS THE PRICE AT $40 IS HIGH FOR THIS TIME OF THE YEAR COMPARED TO OTHER COURSES AND THERE WAS NO ONE ELSE ON THE COURSE. THE TEE TIME WAS 10:15 ON SUNDAY MORNING! IF THE PRICE COMES DOWN I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS COURSE!
Has gone down hill
Needs improvement, greens very hard, tee boxes very hard to even put in tee. Have seen the course in much better shape.
I love playing Randolph
There has been a noticeable improvement in the cleanliness of the facilities and public areas. Course played well and we were paired with two very delightful men.
The bunkers were minus sand but this is not new. Thought I was playing out in the street after a rain storm.
The addition of the attendants in the check in/cart return area is outstanding. They were personable, accommodating and as cute as they could be.
It was a pleasurable day.....wished my golf was better though
Fast play
Course is in good shape and fast play no one there because to expensive. Can play private courses cheaper
This course has the potential to be great.
Although my round wasn't stellar the course was still fun to play. The fairways and greens are in great shape but there are some things that need improvement that's why I gave the course conditions 3 stars. The major reason was the green side bunkers, it seems they need a lot of work. The bunkers where holding a lot of water so if your ball wasn't in a water puddle you were hitting out of a muddy sand. Lastly I would like to thank Steve for being great about sharing your course insight. Steve works at Randolph and it was obvious his game was better than average. although my game was below par that day he didn't get irritated or look down on my game in any way. His laid back and easy going personality made it a fun day. Thanks Steve
A True Muni Course
What you would expect from a municipal course except for the greens fee. I paid more to play this course than I did Arizona National which is designed by Robert Trent Jones.
A parkland course there is very little trouble on the course. Because the fairways are so hard it is easy to get away with bad shots and still get a lot of distance from your shots.
Greens look much worse than they are. Actually putted fairly true. I didn't play from the tips and I walked the course which is flat.
Basically what I expected from a muni. Enjoyable golf, not too challenging, about 4 hours to play and good company.
good value
greens good-fairways average-tee boxes good but a little confusing with their combo tees
Clean up the traps
Played in 4 and a half. Tees, germs and fairways in good condition. Standing water and rocks in the traps. Clean out the rocks and add some sand and it will greatly improve the overall condition of the course.
First time
The facilities were very good. The course was a challenge for me. No complaints. We did have a slow golfer ahead of us. For that reason I would like to see some benches in the shade.
Need Improvement
Course was in good shape and looks to be getting better.
The staff was friendly. The wave they use on the weekend was ridiculous. When we got the 10th there was 3 group waiting to tee off. We were the first group off the 1st tee, they tee off both tees on the weekends to get more people on the course and money. I dont mind that but dont like waiting 35 minutes to tee off on the 10th hole. Also it doesnt take a much effort to clean the bathrooms they stunk horribly. Got a breakfast burrito while we waited, took 25 minutes to make and there was no one eating in the dinner room.
Good deal
Average course, good price, course needs work, but overall a great deal.
Nice Long Course
This is a long course especially for women, not allot of advantage most tee's about 5 feet in front of the mens white tee's. Long Par 3's, back a bit more difficult than the front, meaning more hazard.
But fun course group in front of us were a bit slow so had to wait at every hole to tee off. Have found most courses this winter haven't had ranger/marshalls on the course to move people along that are slow.
But would definitively golf here again.
