long grass
the course was in okay shape, but the grass clippings were not picked up on the fairways making it difficult to find the ball even in the short grass
rough
The rough at Randolf is set up like a major championship, except major championships rough dosent have weeds, UN raked grass,.and trash in it. Its a city course where majority of players shoot 90s to 120s, mow the grass rake it up and clean the trash and get some friendly staff, and id give it 4 stars.
General bad conditions
Course had not be maintained in some time. Fairways, rough and greens needed maintenance. I would only recommend this course if the conditions were better, as it has been in the past.
Monsoon season
My outing was towards the end of July which is usually damp in Tucson. Whereas the course was wet, the conditions were good for a 6:15 start. This course is very straight and there are not a lot of challenges but it is one of the better maintained municipal courses that I've played. There did seem to be an abundance of untrimmed growth around the trees, really my partners only complaint.
great 9 holes on afternoon break
course was in great shape the monsoons have helped the course. some tee boxes need help. but over all the course was wonderful
good value.
Course was in good shape. One thing they need to do is collect their grass clipings.
Good muni course if the price is right
Played Randolph North. Monsoons had started about a week ago so 95% of the course was green where it should be. Greens in good shape. Fairways are hard to distinguish from rough along the sides. Flat, somewhat easy course but only because some approach and tee shots challenge your accuracy. I wouldn't pay more than $15 to play in the summer. We tee'd off at noon for $10, great deal. If they'd lower their prices I'd play there consistently. Why play here for $26-$23 when I can play Starr Pass for $25-$19??? Course was in good shape though.
A tired course that has huge potential, a real deal in downtown.
Some of the fairways and greens had some bare spots, but they were in good condition overall. Bunkers are hard, but may have been a result of recent monsoon activity as there was still water in a couple. The layout and features made the course fun to play and the staff was very helpful with great attitudes, very friendly. We'll go back
A Fun Place to Play Often
Dell Urich is a nice, parkland course and a welcome change of pace for the many desert-styled courses in the Tucson area. It's full of mature trees to consider when planning shots and to keep shot already struck from interfering with the surrounding traffic.
I'm puzzled by the way this course's maintenance betters the Randolph course that shares the same piece of property. Dell Urich always seems a bit greener.
This is easily my favorite Tucson city course! My only complaint is that the fees don't fluctuate with the same predictable pattern as most other courses in Tucson. When the rest of the city is lowering rates to entice golfers to come out in the heat, the city courses stand pat.
If you play smart golf, you'll enjoy every round here... And it won't take long, either. I've blazed some fast rounds here when the crowd is thin. The pace is average/normal when crowded, though. I have yet to play a slow round at Dell Urich.
Needs better maintainence. Overpriced
Not pleased with conditioning of course. This course used to be excellent. City of Tucson not interested in golf course management these days.
Great value, great people, had a great time.
My buddy and I really enjoyed playing this course. The normal green fees were amazingly well priced and the overall maintenance of the course is kept up for being a city course in the 100 degree summer heat. The carts are nice and quiet and staff there are super nice.
Wide open fairways, good greens
Four players, all average in skills, had a very good time. The course was in overall good condition. The greens were well maintained, the fairways smooth. There was a storm the night before and some debris on the tees, but nothing that effected the play. I would recommend the course.
A good golf value.
Good track. Greens a bit shaggy and slow. Some fairways are feeling the effects of the intense Tucson Summer and desperately wait the summer rains. Overall, still a good golf value
Great Course but in very poor condition-needs waterTucs
This is a very good layout but it is in very poor condition. The fairways need water and are bare in several places. The greens are bumpy. This was a PGA Tournament course and it is a shame it is in this poor shape.
More like a cow pasture.
Fairways are dead, dry, and little grass. Greens are in terrible condition... it's a waste of time and money to play this course.
Almost all the greens had issues with many having large and multiple bare spots.
Almost all the greens had issues with many having large and multiple bare spots. The fairways were a little better.
This course has no features
Years ago this was once a proud and outstanding muni course to play. Now, its not. The greens were the worst I have seen, bumpy uneven and brown. The bunkers were full of mud and rocks. And the starter just stares at you rather then notifying the golfers upon there tee times. Avoid this place.
RANDOLPH NORTH
This course is an overall good course. Has some easy holes and some challenging holes. For the money its a good course to play on a short notice.
