Nice course
This course seems to be paying more attention to playing conditions, as they seem to be improving year by year. Pace of play was a little slow this day, but that could be because of more holiday players.
a ok course for the money
this course is not too challenging and no cart paths mostly dirt paths but the course is in good shape, played a few times while in Tucson.
Always solid
Always a good time. Gordon and the crew brought this one back. Good condition always. Great people. Love it.
what a day for golf
It was absolutely perfect. The staff greeted us upon arrival and the Pro, Brian, welcomed us personally. It couldn't have been better..
The course was in good shape. There should be additional tees (Red) added to provide the ladies a little more help, especially over the water holes on the par 3's.
Not fancy but fun
My husband and I both enjoy this course. It is fairly easy but challenging enough for golfers who are working on their game and are more interested in having fun and not in the competition. We like the relaxed atmosphere, it is only a 10 min. drive for us and the rates are great. The course is usually in good to excellent condition.
Great Shape
The course is a distance for us but worth it.
Fairways and greens in good shape. Must of got new carts. Staff friendly. Enjoyed playing at our discounted rate.
this course has great par five's
as always the course had small hard greens,it is always hard to hold your ball on these greens, other than that the course plays very well
a very good value
played recently and had great weather and the course was in great shape. Overseeding took very well.
Slooowww play
No marshall- packed took over 5.5 hours to play 18 holes. Had fun but very frustrating.
Slow Round - No Ranger
This course is really just average for Tucson, but is good during snowbird season as other courses charge much more. Round took nearly 5 hours as a group of 6 (yes I said six) were at least 3 holes behind the group ahead of them and there was no one (like a ranger) to tell about it. These 6 obviously knew the course management so I guess they were immune from playing on pace like the rest of us were expected to do!
5 Hour Round Coming Your Way
we had a mid-morning tee time and still the round was 5 hours for our group of 3. No fault except course management. They let a group of 6 go off about 9:30, who proceeded to drink heavily, play really slow, and back everyone up behind them. No rangers either to keep play moving. When we finally got to hole 14, we were told holes 16, 17 and 18 were all empty in front of the group of 6 who were just approaching the tee at 16 . To add insult to injury, prior to teeing off, you could tell these "'two threesomes" were friends with people behind the front desk!
Not your typical City Course
The layout presents some unique opportunities to test your golf talents. The pace of play was somewhat slower than I like to play at. The course is just out of oversees cart path only, so the greens are slow but uniformly the same speed on all greens.
Easy to walk if you want the exercise.
Great Course for the Money
Fairways are narrow and out of bounds is desert. Great for a casual round of golf. There are no OB drops. Pace is good with cart and walk only if you are a fast walker. Course can be rough at times if your lie is not on the fairway.
Bang for the Buck
The course is a decent test, always in good condition, staff is friendly, and Crooked Tree remains the Best Bang for the Buck in town.
Extremely Slow Greens
We love to visit Crooked Tree when we are in town. This time the greens were like shag carpets and practically unputtable, they seemed to have a lot of grass in them and could have been cut to a reasonable length? We are from Oregon, and not familiar with overseeing. We love the layout and desert at Crooked Tree and will be back. We had a good enough time to play 27. It was a beautiful day. Thank you!
Course Review
Greens lush but grass way too long. Badly need rolling. Fairways adequate but lushness and tight lies hard to find. Sand adequately playable.but rough very difficult to play unless you carry “rock” club in your bag. It was hardly pristine as I was led to believe.
