Fun Track!
We thoroughly enjoyed our round at Crooked Tree. The course is a good combination of 'fair'' holes where keeping it in the fairway will serve you well and some water holes with more challenge to them. In the Pro Shop Brian was welcoming, knowledgeable and great fun to talk with.
Do not go here.
This was the worst experience I have ever had. I would rather stick a pencil in my eye than go back to this place again. People there did not seem to like women very much.
Great public course.
For a public golf course the course conditions were very good. The greens, tees, and grass practice range were exceptional. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Course design/layout was uninspiring but very well taken care of. Very good value for the money paid.
Nice Course
Enjoyed a good round in about 3 hours. Course is in good condition. Greens are excellent. Will be back to play again.
Disappointed
We were disappointed that we were paired up with a twosome that had a child along for the ride... well behaved but a distraction from the way we would normally play the game. We weren't informed that this would be the case, that just showed up at the first tee. There's a time and place for children on the course and mid to late morning on a weekend isn't the time.
Decent Course for All Handicaps
My wife and I had an enjoyable round here. The greens are quick but read true. The fairways were on the hard side..ball rolls well when driving. Out of bounds only really comes into play for the high handicap golfer. You can use 3 woods off a number of tees. You want to stay below the hole on the greens. Sand traps are hard. The course will challenge you for players of all levels. Pace of play was average. Slightly over a 4 hour round.
Really very good public course
Played in the afternoon for $40 which is very reasonable for late February. Great practice facility with chipping area and practice bunker.
Course is walker friendly and we saw about 30% of the players with push carts. The views of the mountains is spectacular and worth the price alone.
Crooked Tree will not beat you up though I would recommend a GPS like SkyCaddie for the first time visitor.
We will definitely be back.
The Straight Up for Crooked Tree
This course was excellent. I cannot find a single complaint to make. From entering the Pro Shop to turning in the cart after the round everything was excellent. The beverage cart lady was a hoot. Coming back very soon. It is well worth the ride across town from the eastside of Tucson or anywhere.
Greens were of good speed and condition.
Fairways were in good condition and very wet.
Most of the bunkers were poorly maintained with many of them full of rocks and stones causing potential club damage.
The foursome directly in front of us took 20 min's to play the 1st hole. We requested, and received permission from them to skip the second hole and proceed to the third tee. The rest of the round was at a very good pace. No course ranger was seen during the round.
The beverage cart lady was very cordial, prompt, and a very good asset to the staff.
Course
Fairways and greens in great condition. Still need to improve on golf paths. Pretty bumpy ride when no golf path available.
Scorecard should have a course layout map; charge of $2 for book/map is overage. Great practice and set-up areas. Play was slow in afternoon; took over 4 hours with wait at each tee and in fairways between shots.
Great Saturday for golf
The weather was perfect. Greens were rolling true and in great condition. Fairways had an excellent overseed. Pace of play for a foursome of not so great golfers could not have been better. We were neither pushed nor held back. Had a 9:50 tee time and tee-ed off at 9:48. Finished the round at 2 PM.
