About

Type Resort

Length 6951 yards

Rating 73.7

The Club at Starr Pass offers 27 holes of championship golf that have been host to legends such as Arnold Palmer and Phil Mickelson. The holes are divided into three nines that are played in three different 18-hole combinations. One of these combinations is Coyote/Roadrunner. Coyote is the club's signature course and while the Roadrunner nine might be the shortest, it has plenty of elevation changes. Both golf courses are carved from the scenic Tucson Mountains, providing golfers with a diverse landscape that is abundant with jackrabbits, quail, and deer. In addition to the three nines, there is also a double-loaded driving range and a practice area with putting and chipping greens.

Save your $$

We played Starr Pass and was disappointed by most aspects of the course and facility. No one was staffing bag drop when we arrived around 10a, the starter was less then helpful with minimal instructions and the pace of play was around 2.5 hours per 9 holes. We left the back nine after 4 holes and 25 minutes behind pace per their gps system on our cart. When we made our way back to the cart return there were no less than 7 employees literally standing around. The greens were painted, the bunkers had little sand and they were littered with rocks.

We let the staff know why we were leaving and they showed little concern. Save your $$ and play somewhere else in Tucson.

Beautiful course for experienced experts

Beautiful setting and friendly staff. Great barbecue at the clubhouse. Bring 25 or more balls. Crazy gullies and super difficult tee or approach shots. Not for the weekend golfer. We quit after 9.

Starr Pass

Played here multiple times. Always in great condition and value is fantastic when compared to Dove mountain and Tucson nation. Almost half the cost. You won’t regret it.

Way too many forced carries off the tees, and excessively firm sand in the bunkers!

Great twilight play

My wife and I played the Coyote 9 at 2: 30 . We had the course to ourselves. The scenery was spectacular. Great Golf Now rate included range balls. We had dinner in the attached restaurant and the service and food was great. The experience was way better than 18 holes on the Tucson city courses. I wish I could afford to stay at the resort. Very pricey but probably worth it if you have the money.

Beautiful desert course

Challenging layout that tests you on each hole. Very fast greens. Sand in traps was very shallow. Some very steep sides to many of the greens. If you miss, you end up going in the thicket.

An expensive course with sanolets?

My wife didn’t appreciate that. Was told to keep pace of play brisk as the tee sheet was full. Got behind a oompa loompa foursome and was stuck all day. No marshall to be found. Don’t like bermuda and this course is full of jt. Did like the elevation changes and forced carries. The starter was terrific. Personable. Overall, a very challenging course. Still expected more for the money as far as pace of play was concerned. Overbooked? Arizona National was better IMO.

Beautiful mountain course; great condition; difficult GIRs

Scenic mountain course with undulating fairways and well protected greens. Tee shots offers many generous fairways.to safe targets, but risks if you tried for the long ball

Greens were well protected and penalized an errant shot; sand, steep banks, and waste areas were common around the greens.

Course in very good condition.

Played the course for the first time and the wind was a constant 20 to 30 mph with gusts to 40 mph and temps around 50. No course is fun to play under those conditions so any review would be a little unfair. I liked the layout and would play it again only with a "hot deal" from Golf Now in the $70 to $80 range.
