Chesapeake Golf Club sits tucked away in the idyllic village of Las Gaviotas, conveniently situated just 15 minutes from downtown Norfolk. Boasting some of the best greens in the Tidewater area, the club offers the amenities of a private club with the fees of a public golf course. The layout will challenge you with rolling fairways and tricky doglegs. Water hazards come into play frequently so be prepared for a few intimidating blind shots over water. Mature trees line the rolling fairways and there are also strategically placed bunkers lurking along the greensides. The manageable 6,278-yard length is approachable for beginners yet there are still holes that long hitters will enjoy. Chesapeake Golf Club is a course that will test your skills but it's not overly punishing for the high handicapper.

Good experience
Honestly I was pleasantly surprised with this course. Great layout, well maintained and overall great time. Would definitely recommend.
Fun day at Chesapeake
Had never played this course but was pleasantly surprised with how well the greens rolled and the friendliness of the staff. Everything else on the course was pretty standard with decent fairways, bunkers, and general course maintenance. Not a bad course just not what I’d call nice either. Great staff from the club pro to the starter to the cart lady though.
Worst management around
10 carts waiting on the tee box, 45 min behind schedule solely due to over booking. Took 6 hrs to play 18 holes.
Excellent course for the fee
This course has lots of challenges but also has opportunities to score well. I enjoyed the layout. The greens are in fantastic shape. Well worth the time. Pace of play could have been better but the worst I've endured.
Greens are good
Been a while since I last played this course and was not disappointed. Will play again when my schedule allows
Challenging course
The greens and fairways are all in decent shape. There are several holes where the fairways are split near the halfway point, right where your first drive wants to go! Highly recommend.
Great Course, just slow play.
This course was in pretty good shape, fairways were good not great, greens were nice, and the tee boxes on certain holes could use a little TLC. The pace of play was awful, I know Saturday is likely the busiest day at any course but five and a half hours is far from a good pace. No Marshall and the beverage cart was only seen once. If the pace of play were to become better I would recommend this course.
Nice course
First time on this course. Well maintained and somewhat challenging. Thoroughly enjoyed this course.
Needs work.
Gas carts are not needed and are a distraction. Cart paths are terrible and need to be paved due to pot holes everywhere.
Nice course
Nice layout. Was here visiting family and found this course close to my hotel. Rate was good and the course was nice for the price. Tee boxes were ok but could use a little work. Fairways had a few weedy areas but overall in good shape. Greens were nice and rolled true. A few challenges not knowing the course. Could use some tips on the water holes to give you distance and carry from the tees. I would play here again next time I’m in town.
