Black Horse at Bayonet/Black Horse Golf Course

Great layout, great conditions, often perfect weather. I think Bayonet / Black Horse is the best value for the money in the Monterey area. High golf IQ from players who play there often. There was a slow foursome ahead of us (they were older and needed more time) who kindly let our foursome play through. You won't get that awareness and courtesy in many other courses.

course in great shape, staff super helpful. I rented a Titleist demo driver and the staff changed out the shaft right as i was checking in to the shaft i was looking for

They trimmed a lot of the trees on both courses so now you have more Ocean views than ever before.

Great golf course. Both the layout and the condition were excellent.

Had an 8:10 tee time on Black Horse. Went off on time, and pace of plat was great. Course was in great shape. People in clubhouse were nice and friendly. Would absolutely recommend playing there.

Beautiful course with a challenge for all levels of players. No water hazards but enough bunkers throughout every hole to make you think twice. Would definitely play again and recommend to family and friends.

The changes to the course foundation of homes the clearing of unnecessary trees and limbs was a positive with the cool weather and wind. It’s still a challenging course to score. Greens were impeccable.

This place is fantastic. The most well maintained course I have ever played. Place of play was great, had a buddy of mine and two randoms and we finished under 4 hours. The scenery and layout are great, and I have never seen the grass in such good condition before. I can’t wait to go back!

Had another great day at Blackhorse yesterday, the weather was normal for this time of year hazy at the start and finished with perfect conditions. The only small problem was the sandy greens, I understand that they need to do this to keep the course in great condition.

Sanding impacted putting to a degree and new to the course compounded it. Had a great time

This is one of the best courses that I’ve ever played anywhere. It’s always in good shape. Tee boxes are always nice. It’s a little cloudy out there sometimes but it’s worth the money to play down there. It’s very challenging. The greens are challenging. Overall, I try and play this course at least once a week.
