Legacy Golf Club

After a not so warm welcome from the gumpy old guys at the bag drop, we had a great time. Played with some friends that don't golf as much as I do, so we played Texas scramble to help them keep up with the pace of play. We all loved the course. Our favorite holes were 12 and 13.

Fairways mostly large for higher handicaps, a significant amount of water, very pretty, Enjoyable course and round.

This is my second time playing Legacy. Very nice layout. Front 9 is fairly open with room to spray the tee shot and still score. The back 9 is a different story. Tee shots need to be more precise. The 13th hole is very challenging par 3. The fairways were in good shape. Greens were in excellent shape.

Not bad, however could be better. Challenging layout with slow pace of play. Live close by to the course and it's typically pretty busy. The front nine is a bit more forgiving, back nine has more water involved and seems tougher. Would be a great experience with some more TLC and faster pace of play (no rangers on course). Certainly not on the level of Lakewood Ranch CC Cyprus course which is too bad because it could be with better course maintenance. Although you do get what you pay for ;)

With range balls and greens fees I was into it for $116. I’ve played courses just as nice with balls included for $80. Aside from that, the kitchen/bar staff was great and it was a nice day out.

For the course staff, the bag drop guy told me to head to the first tee 23 minutes early out of nowhere but thankfully I had already hit range balls and about 6 putts. The starter and rangers were ok, but at times were approaching ridiculous when asking us to speed up. Our 4-some turned 18 in 4 hours and 6 minutes including a 13 minute stop at the turn. It wasn’t our fault the 2-some behind us was always waiting all the time and we offered to let them play through twice which they declined but still complained to the rangers about waiting.

Would I play it again, sure. But only after playing 10 other places just as nice and more reasonably priced.

Really good course. Excellent layout. Very challenging. When coming to this area I recommend this course to everyone!

During season the pace of play is not managed well. I had to cut a round two holes short, which at that point the round was 4 hours and 20 minutes long. Better course management us needed.

Good Arnold Palmer design course. Front nine was fun and a little more forgiving. The back was challenging and a blast. Definitely a course to play when in the area.

Overall this is a very interesting course layout with some fun risk/reward holes and challenging greens to read properly. However the course conditions have really deteriorated from years past when this was a very well groomed and manicures course. There were lots of weed grasses in areas that should have been rough or fairway on some holes. Grass was thin or missing in patches and regions on some holes as well. Greens were fairly quick and rolled true though and were the best part of the course in terms of conditions. If you can get it for $30 to $40 it may be worth it, but if they got it back into good shape in terms of conditions it could be worth much more. I miss the course it was when it first opened, as it was spectacular back then. A shame to see it go down hill quite a bit. Not sure what the problem is either, seems to get a lot of play which can be a problem with slow play.

Legacy has a very interesting and challenging layout. Each child is different. Very aesthetic. Course is in good condition.

Tee time moved up after a great hot deal Golf now. Paired with a member he was very accommodating. Course is always fun, challenging. I feel it’s in excellent shape. The one Issue that seems to be constant is the pace of play. I’ll be back
