The River Club

The group loved it. I had 3 buddies come into town for work and we all decided to play this course. Needless to say, it was not like the normal Texas courses. There were lots of options off the tee versus "teeing it high and letting it fly" on most Texas courses. We will definitely add this one to the yearly list.

Great layout. Beware of the water. Great conditions. Will play regularly from now on.

Staff very friendly and accommodating. The course was in good condition, tees mostly good, a couple of greens early on had some small patches of recent sanding possibly as a result of the recent storms but apart from that the greens were good and rolled well with good speed. The fairways had a good coverage of grass and we usually play preferred lies on vacation but there was no need on this course. We will play there again as it's decent golf at a fair price.

Although we had a tee time the starter put us back and let a big group start before us. Then the pace was very slow. We spent 5 hours for 18 holes.

Over all I give River Club a good rating Course is back in good shape and the greens are rolling good. A bit slow but always has been. For the money I recommend you play it at least once this season if not more.

Played this course many times and it’s getting better every time we play.

That day i my best game ever. 5 par, 2 birdies. They have a good recovery since Milton Hurricane, just some trees outside the fairway need to be cut.

This was the first time I played here, but it won’t be the last… The staff was very friendly all around. I went about 4 days after Milton and they had it cleared for play so that tells me that they are on top of it. Cart girl was friendly and even let you know when on her las round. However, if driving by, don’t be a jerk. I heard a few passing cars yelling at the cart girl as if it was a good way of gaining attention. Just don’t It was disrespectful and you could see it embarrassed her.

I would say that one area of improvement would be better signs. Whil it isn’t hard to navigate going through the neighborhoods, this could be better. The first time, I was going the right way but there was no indication to stay off the sidewalk until almost at the hole. Nothing that takes away from the course, just a suggestion. Just go and enjoy the course.

Course in great shape for the price, played at 12:01 for $35. And this course drains well, most other courses were CPO. All staff is very nice. A+

Tony does a good job maintaining both of his courses. Greens are in good shape as are the fairways. Bunkers are better than most other courses.
