Excellent conditions, great value.
Out of the courses I played in the area this had the best fairways. Great value, staff were friendly. Would return again in the future!
Soooo slow
The good.. we had 1:30 tee time and actually got out 10 minutes early, first hole was great
The not so good… we got to 2nd hole and there were four groups on the hole (par 3) and it didn’t get. much better all day despite rangers efforts to speed up play… we seemed to wait every hole… after almost 5 hours we quit after 16 holes….. we really like this course and have played it often, but this uncompleted round was painful !!
Things happen.... Cart got a flat tire on 16th green; but, great response from course starter and assistant
We want to shout out a big thank you to James and Wes for their quick response to our call for assistance on the 16th green late in the day near dusk. The sun was quickly going down and we were not expecting to finish 18 holes.
James and Wes quickly arrived to support us in under 10 minutes and got us in a new cart and ready to finish our play. We finished 18 with no problem.

Nice course
Nice public course. Nice little clubhouse with good food. Well worth it for the money. Course was in good shape. Only 2 complaints. We ordered food when we started 8th hole. Got there half hour later and still had to wait another 40 minutes. Also, the driving range fiasco. You have to take a golf cart to the range and then when done, drive back to the clubhouse and switch carts? The “range” cart was nicer then the one you use for the course. Very strange and inconvenient. I still recommend.
Thanks so much for the review. This time of year, we have all of the carts in a grid in tee time order behind the pro shop. We put 7 range carts up front for our customers so that they do not have to lug bags to range, which is a bit of a walk. Then when they are ready to go, we put them in our gps carts for the course. As for food, next time pick something up at the halfway house by 11 tee. Much more convenient! Thanks again for the review. Tony
Great Bones
River Club Golf Club is an interesting track with unique holes. No back and forth boredom. Conditions are improving rapidly since new ownership two years ago. Very pleased to get on this course in the busy season for a reasonable rate. People... please play ready golf and keep it mov'in!
Very Pleasant Experience
Played The River Club for the first time in several years and found that it was much improved and staff much friendlier than under prior ownership. Starter got me out approx. 10 minutes prior to scheduled tee time. Pace of play was not fast, but this is the norm this time of year in SW Florida. Greens were slow but rolled true, with no bare spots or damage of any kind. Fairways and tees were acceptable. Sand traps leave a bit to be desired. All-in-all it was a pleasant experience and I look forward to going back.

Feedback
Pace of play has been the issue but yesterday we finished (first time in five rounds) in 4:10 which is fine during heavy season. Enjoy the golf course and will be back weekly.
Excellent experience
The course was in very nice condition and the pace of play was excellent, finished in just under four hours. Had a 10:10 tee time.
The staff was friendly and while we didn’t see the drink cart on the front nine we saw her three times on the back.
Not sure of the reviews stating that the staff wasn’t friendly, we found them to be great.
Will definitely be back to this course.
check in
both the cashier and I were very confused as the proper procedure to check in. I showed up approximately 22 minutes prior to my tee time. He would not check me in and told me to come back because he was to not check people in until 15 minutes prior to tee time. I complied, came back exactly 15 minutes before tee time and he again would not check me in and told me to come back in 10 minutes. I told him if I did that there would be no way for me to have time to check in, find the starter and check in with him, get to my cart and make it to the tee at my tee time. I specifically asked "should I check in at 16 minutes until the tee time or 14 minutes prior to tee time. He didn't seem to know or understand what I was asking but stated something about him not wanting to lose his job and was doing what he was told. It was all very confusing for both him and I. He was pleasant through the whole thing. I should point out that I booked my tee time via golf now
Not sure what caused the confusion. Our pro shop staff is awesome and very well trained. Golf Now hot deals are owned by golf now. The keep 100% of the revenue and make 100% of the rules. As per your email confirmation from golf now, they have a 15 minute check in rule. This prevents people from buying these twilight tee times and coming 3 hours before their tee times, which believe it or not, happens all the time. We are simply following the rules, as we have for many years. The person who checked you in was not confused at all. And he is a GREAT guy. Hope this helps. Tony.

Time to play
There seemed to be a little confusion on tee times. According to the starter there were 3 different groups with the same starting tee time, this snafu pushed our tee time back over 20 minutes and we barely finished, on the edge of darkness…. Otherwise all was good
