The River Club

Our tee time was 11:48. When the time came, there were FOUR groups on the first hole - on the green, waiting in the fairway, and two groups on the tee. It was well after noon before we teed off, and then the first few holes took a half hour per hole to play. Seriously.

A ranger came thru around the 5th hole, and he did not even make eye contact, nor acknowledge us so we did not get to talk to him about why it was so slow. .

I finally called the pro shop while waiting to hit on the 8th tee, to report how slow it was. There was no manager on duty, a man who answered the phone was not helpful.

It was after 3 o'clock on the 9th hole. We had dinner plans and decided to see if we could get a raincheck for the other 9 since it was well over a 3 hour per nine pace, making us very late.

THEN, our cart died on the way to the clubhouse.

A nice gentleman from the cart area gave us a push, apologized and said I'd have to speak to the pro shop to get a raincheck.

The man at the desk however was very disrespectful, and argumentative. He was having trouble with the computer then finally said since I booked through GolfNow they did not have my money, GolfNow did, and I would have to ask GolfNow for a raincheck.

I paid $150 for 18 holes for my son and I, and was only able to play 9.

River Club should have been happy to provide a raincheck for the whole round, based on the pace of play and the cart not being charged enough to last more than 9 holes.

At the very least, I am due a raincheck for two 9 hole rounds, from the course, or GolfNow.

The man at the desk said they had 250 golfers on the course so far that day. Clearly, they were more concerned about cashing in than providing a pleasant golf experience.

First time playing this course this year. It was in great shape and the price was right. I will be back to play again

Course layout and design is excellent. Standing on each tee was a pleasure as each hole was very appealing to the eye. Although some of the greens were being worked on, overall they were very good. The staff were very friendly and helpful also. Definitely will go back.

This was a beautiful course layout. Unfortunately we were only able to play nine holes due to the rain & cold. The course actually closed as the rain was forecast to be even heavier than the all-afternoon rain we tried to play through. The staff was outstanding, friendly & welcoming.

Narrow fairways. Lots of hazards. Good prices for golf and snacks.

This was the first time I played this course. I did enjoy it and will be back. The fairways were a little on the thin side but not real bad. The greens had recently been fertilized so there was alot of the sand debris on them but they still were smooth and fast. The bunkers weren't consistent as some od them had nice sand and some were like cement. Course gets alot of play so play was fairly slow 4hrs 45min. Also just to let Golfnow members know that they really don't like it and they let you know it. Check in for you is 15min. Prior to tee time no exceptions. The owner also owns Greenfield Plantation so Golfnow is the same there

All things about the course are great except the proximity of parking to the pro shop and no carts in parking lots. Very inconvenient!!

the only issue we had other than slow play was that prior to the 13th hole the battery warning light came on and we noticed the cart was starting to slow down so rather take the chance of getting stuck out on the course a we got back and called it a day.I went in the club house and told them but they didn't offer to do anything for us.

Got on course at scheduled tee time but there wasn’t a ranger and played first 9 holes in over 3 hours…. Many holes with 3-4 groups stacked up… agonizing for someone who plays ready golf .

Did not tee off on time. 1:24 was our time. Three groups on almost every hole. No Ranger. Drove off course after 4 hrs. 15 minutes after finishing hole #13 due to approaching sunset.

This is a beautiful course. Well maintained, extremely well laid out, enjoyable to play. Tees, fairways and greens all in superb condition. But the pace of play was maddeningly, inexcusably slow. 12:36 tee time and we finished at 6:15pm. The starter sent off an eight-some in front of us, and I suspect there was another in front of that. We saw the Marshall only once time the entire round. Two groups behind us just gave up and went home. We want to come back and play it again but would never do so with a tee time after 9am.

Pace was slow common this time of year. Enjoyable round.
