Played for the first time here! The course is in playable condition, fairways were nice, the second cut though in my opinion needs a little attention, greens were solid,a little yellow, but you can tell they are trying to bring the place back to life! Will definitely play again! Staff was very friendly!

I like the layout, yes the greens are small but tees, fairways and greens all in good shape, bunkers were a mess because of rain and some washout but that’s florida golf in the summer, never saw a cart girl but got drinks at the bar on the turn. We were a 2some and playing in just over 3 hours with zero pace issues. One or 2 more water stations on course would be ideal especially now that we’re getting to the hotter months. We will be back though, it was fun.

Great layout,rolling fairways with favorable bounces! Cart paths and Bunkers need work but if you stay away from them then there is no complaints about this golf course! Will definitely be back there!

After reading a few reviews on this course it is true, the cart paths are a little rough, and the Sand traps are in need of Sand(luckily I stayed out of them today) they all look washed out and almost hard panned! But the course is playing real nice. Rolling fairways with favorable bounces! Tight in some spots but opens up so if you push it left or right you are still in position for the next shot!

Played course six months ago and it was ok but needed work. Played it Sunday and was pleasantly surprise; fairways great shape tee boxes squared away, but greens slow and sand traps whipped out by heavy rains. Still, glad I played and do recommend it as a course that can be added to your rotation!

I guess you can say that when you travel almost 2 hrs. and over 100 miles to play a course that you like it. Alot! I try to make it a point to get to BB once or twice a year but this year it was a little more of a sacrifice with the price of gas. Still, I took 3 more friends who had never played the course and they were as impressed as I am. Not your typical Florida course with rolling hills and elevated greens. Course was in good shape and the staff is always respectful and kind. If you've never played BB what are you waiting for? And if you have, why don't you go back,soon?

My partner and I enjoyed the nice weather even though a bit windy. We both like the layout at Black Bear and think there has been improvement in the fairways. The greens were just terrible, however - extremely slow and not smooth. Throw in all the undulation on the greens, and it becomes exceptionally difficult to make putts on the course.

Everything is as good as normal, but the greens were bumpy and slow, disappointed. Hope they get back to the usual good conditions

I liked the layout of this course, which was different than many of the courses in the area. P. Dye layout with a links feel. Only water in play on one hole of note. Lot's of elevated and small greens made good iron play and chipping a premium and where most of the difficulty of the course is. It was not in terrific condition, but played well regardless, with generally good lies and true rolls on the green (though a bit slow). I'd definitely play here again and thought the value was very good. Staff was friendly.

I try to play different courses in the area and have been meaning to play here. I’m so glad I got the opportunity to play here. The staff was friendly and helpful, even had the starter come look for me to help guide me to the first tee. I got paired up with a player who not only has played here a few times, was knowledgeable about the placement of the pin and the best way to play the holes to maximize the shot. Overall I had a great time and can’t wait to go with friends to play again

This has always been a fun golf course for me. Probably I have golfed it 70 times over the years. New management has improved the fairways, greatly raised prices, and done nothing to improve the marginal to poor greens. Yesterday the greens were very slow and had crab grass in spots. Fairways and tees were in good shape, and the practice facility is very good as well.

The staff is very unfriendly and not worth a conversation. Our group felt threatened by their approach and despite many attempts, they were coming at us as we were non white. Golf is a game for everyone and the greats of the game have proved that. We felt insecure through the round as one of the staff members was rude and clearly out to make it difficult for us to play. He was completely the opposite with other groups. Don’t go there if you are a non-white.

Enjoyed the round. One players first time. Liked course. Couple of greens needed attention. # 6 green seems to be a continuous problem.
