P.B. Dye-designed Black Bear Golf Club offers good value and a challenging day. Six sets of tees give you plenty of options. This 18-hole championship facility course, located within 45 minutes of the Orlando attractions boasts of a complete practice facility that includes a double ended driving range, as well as a 40,000 sq. ft. short game area.

Nice Layout & Condition
Relatively though course with undulating fairways, small elevated greens. Most greens were in good shape; fairways were hard due to dry weather for the past few weeks.
Small greens
The greens were in decent condition but are very small. The pot bunkers are on every hole. Take your own drinks. There was no drinking water on the course and no refreshment cart.
Where did all the good courses go
Played Black Bear and had fun would recommend , I was just wondering why years ago there were a lot more nice courses on Golf Now and now there are very few ?
Greens are back
Played a couple years ago and the greens were pretty rough but they look good now
Fun time at Black Bear CC
Like the layout of this course. Challenging but not over the top. Some of the Greens were a bit patchy and could roll little better, but overall the course was in decent shape. It has improved quite a bit over the last few plays here. Will definitely keep coming back!
Testing layout
Course is typical for winter golf in Florida on a course that is not overseeded. Fairways are tight. They are starting to get an invasive grass on greens, making them bumpy in spots. It is still a good course to play. I go back several times when in Florida.
Hackers delight
I enjoy playing here because it’s easy to score well when I’m hitting the greens in reg. However, conditions around the green need to be better. I wasted a lot of strokes because of chipping from dirt and weeds. I like that the fairways are wide and rough is manageable. Also, very minimal water well placed traps. All things considered it’s a course I that makes golf enjoyable for someone like me who doesn’t play often.
This links style course has its teeth on the greens, with wide open rolling fairways the raised greens with lots of movement are fun to try and tackle. Staff were all very friendly and the course was not crowded.
Great challenging course
Black Bear is in very good shape! It is a challenging course with some challenging bunkers and greens. There are tees for all levels of players. It is a great course to spend your day!
Great Value
The layout is great and highly recommend the course. Fairway lies were tight because we’re in the dry season so solid ball striking is a must, but overall the course is now one of my favorites in Central Florida. Will definitely be playing it more.
Course was good for a first time played
We were teamed with a couple of fellows who play it regularly. Their guide was beneficial. Greens werehallenging . Took a few to get used to their many undulations and speed. It was fun.
