Black Bear Golf Club

Black Bear is in very good shape! It is a challenging course with some challenging bunkers and greens. There are tees for all levels of players. It is a great course to spend your day!

The layout is great and highly recommend the course. Fairway lies were tight because we’re in the dry season so solid ball striking is a must, but overall the course is now one of my favorites in Central Florida. Will definitely be playing it more.

We were teamed with a couple of fellows who play it regularly. Their guide was beneficial. Greens werehallenging . Took a few to get used to their many undulations and speed. It was fun.

What a difference a year makes! Always liked the layout, but not the conditions. Certainly not perfect, but much improved since playing last year. The new management are on the right track, the effort is paying off. Pro shop and restaurant staff are both friendly and helpful. Looking forward to playing again!

Greens aren't in best shape right now likely due to the weather. Usually this course does a good job at groundskeeping.

Tough thing about this course is the very small greens. Also during high traffic times they like to cut the pins within a few feet of the edge to reduce the foot traffic on the greens.

It makes for a tough weekend experience because of the high number of high handicappers and pace of play. Not much they can do about the small greens so it kind of is what it is.

Feels easily like a mid 130s slope with the pin positions. Not much they do here except major course modifications to make it more playable. They should soften the pin locations up on weekends to speed up play but they are trying to save the greens.

Hitting mats and tracer experience is a great touch here and awesome addition. Especially during the summer heat and sun hitting in the shade.

A great layout, but it stops there. Fairways full of weeds and bare spots and many rough greens. The course is in bad shape!

It was a great course layout. The amenities were outstanding and the bar staff were really nice

course was in pretty good shape the only real thing that was disappointing was for my wife womens tees just placed any where no actual tees

interesting lay out rewarding good shots and punishing poor ones. Also, requiring a sense of humor when one has to invent some shots on this course not used very much on a regular course.

Well built love the design and hilly nature of course!

This course was extremely difficult for Senior Golfers due to the hills and inclines. At this time of year the course needed some attending due to recent rains.

Only docking the layout based on the narrow but long greens. This is a great track and worth the drive from Davenport for us. Cant wait to play it again.
