About
South/North is one of three golf courses at Fernandina Beach Golf Club. The facility is home to three distinct nines that form three different 18-hole combinations. Winding through thick forests of oaks and pines, Fernandina Beach Golf Club's South/North course offers a glimpse at native Florida wildlife. The South nine depends more on accuracy rather than distance while the north nine, the shortest in length of the three, features undulating greens. Water hazards also come into play throughout the golf course. Fernandina Beach's 27 unique holes are made even more appealing by the affordable rates and convenient proximity to Jacksonville and the beach.

Played this course for over 30 years. This course used to be one of the better courses in North Florida. I always liked the layout and value. Over the last decade the course had fallen in disrepair. The greens and fairways were patchy and in bad shape. Now, they have gotten the greens in much better shape and the fairways have filled in. I played West and South today and was extremely happy with the progress made.
Big Improvmenta
Course has come a very long way in the past year other than a couple greens that still need work this course played better than it has in the 2 years I’ve been playing there.
Last day round
After a fun visit on the island ,including golf at other courses, we decided to play a final round here. (West+South). You can tell the 27 holes had the bones of a nice course … in its day. Length instead of layout difficultly. Loved the views around the course, and greens all had the right amount of approach difficulty.
But the course has seem far better days. Tee boxes are a mess, and fairways of mixed grass and weeds break up any chance of a good lie. The greens were very slow and in much need or water and TLC.
Grounds crew using bushhog instead of normal maintenance equipment says a lot. Bathrooms on the course were scary at best.
Maybe the members are ok with the state of the course and that is fine if true, but with some capital infusion, a profession greens keeper, and robust water utilization, this course could return to a go to destination for visitors. Right now, I can’t recommend it.

Don’t expect much .. just play golf .. grille was nice ..

The weather was relatively hot but staffs were cool and very friendly.
The course lay out is very nice and enjoyable and peaceful and quiet. I did really enjoyed.
Nice updates
They continue to work on improvements. The garbage is in enclosed containers so things don’t fly away. They have aerated the greens so some are a bit “bumpy” but the south course was nice

Fair course for the money, clearly not a top tier course but a fun day. Brand new carts a +++
