South/North at Fernandina Beach Golf Club
About
South/North is one of three golf courses at Fernandina Beach Golf Club. The facility is home to three distinct nines that form three different 18-hole combinations. Winding through thick forests of oaks and pines, Fernandina Beach Golf Club's South/North course offers a glimpse at native Florida wildlife. The South nine depends more on accuracy rather than distance while the north nine, the shortest in length of the three, features undulating greens. Water hazards also come into play throughout the golf course. Fernandina Beach's 27 unique holes are made even more appealing by the affordable rates and convenient proximity to Jacksonville and the beach.

Pleasantly Surprised
Courses were in great shape. There are 3 9 hole courses and they each provide their own challenges. The rough is a little thick and grabs your club. Hit em straight and all is good. Greens nice but a little slow. Pace was great 3 to 3-1/2 hours to play. Great staff. Will definitely play again next time in town.
Good Muni
I enjoy playing FBGC It’s well kept and long but fair.
Surprised
Have not played the course in quite a while was very surprised and the course conditions is in pretty good shape😉
Not in best shape
Considering how much rain the Fernandina area has been receiving lately, I would have assumed the course would have been a much better shape. Wasn't that it was too wet, it was too dry. The fairways were sparse., the rough was thin, the greens were slow and played like putting on velcro. The rate advertised on golf now was $38, by the time you add fees and everything else it was $45.50 each player. It's my understanding they charge $60 for the general public. Way overpriced. Six pack of beer was $33. With tip 40 bucks. Ridiculous for a city course that's taxpayer-funded. Gouging the tourists. I'm a local. I didn't expect this.
Great shape
I was told by an employee I spoke to that 5 years ago the course was in very bad shape, but went out to find beautiful greens and decent fairways now. You can tell a lot of care is in it. I definitely recommend giving it a play.
Good Conditions, horrible pace
Course was in good shape but no starter and no rangers led to a sloooooow day. There was a couple in front of me, they played on pace and were also frustrated, but the foursome in front of them played extremely slow and it looked like a they had a slow group in front of them. Very slow front nine was extremely frustrating and was only able to play 15 holes overall bc I ran out of time. Very disappointing
Course was in excellent shape
Course is long and in excellent shape. (West 9 and south 9)
Water coolers needed
The course needs to have ice water coolers for players to have drinkable water during the round. Great price for a round of golf.
Water coolers needed
I’ve never played golf on a course in August that did not have a single water canister on the whole course. It’s 95 degrees and sunny and there is no water available for golfers to drink to stay hydrated. Having water available would make the round more enjoyable. I liked the course overall.
Such a great course
Everything about this course was great. Challenging fairways and great rolling greens. We will be back
Awesome course
Very challenging course. Will definitely come back again. Greens could use a little attention but nothing bad.
Challenging Course
South side was very challenging. Definitely will come back again
Grass in Fairways!
Grass conditions have improved dramatically compared to last season.
Greens were slow but in good condition.
