North/West at Fernandina Beach Golf Club
About
Fernandina Beach Golf Club is home to three distinct nines, the North, South, and West that make up three different 18-hole combinations. This 27-hole facility boasts a unique configuration on each of the nines for a truly diverse golfing experience. The North/West course at Fernandina Beach Golf Club combines the longest nine, the West, and the shortest nine, the North. The North nine features undulating greens and water hazards but the generous, wide-open fairways of the West nine make the golf course accessible to players of all skill levels. Native foliage in addition to towering oaks and pines throughout the course allow for a scenic escape in addition to an excellent round.

Grinding on the back nine Photo submitted by Doug3188839 on 09/25/2012
South course is a “rat-hole”
The South course was in terrible shape. The fairways were barren in many area and tee boxes were not level and many had weeds growing on them. The west course was in great shape. The club doesn’t care about pace of play. Too many geriatric walkers who don’t care how many balls they hit with stacks of groups on the tee boxes. It will probably be another 10 years before I play there again
Bunkers and staff...
I enjoy the course but the staff is very rude every time we go out there. We know it’s more of an older crowd and my group is 30-40 year olds. So we can’t tell if we are frowned upon there bc the staff is old as well. We have been there a handful of times and never a good time with the staff. Outside of that, we like the course. I will say that the bunkers are the worst from Camden county to St. John’s county.
Good course for the money
Conditions were good, greens rolled nice for how dry it has been lately. Need rain badly and the fairways will come back but this course is enjoyable and worth the money to play. The range needs a lot of work. Barely any grass to hit from and believe they need to close it and regrass the entire thing. Glad the course conditions were not similar. South nine is tight on a number of holes which makes it a challenge. West nine is long from the tips with three par 5s and lengthy par 3s. Pace of play was okay. Somehow a small tournament was going on and did a shotgun start which got in front of us on the 5th hole on the South 9 our front nine. Not sure the starter knew this but would have been nice to ensure that they were behind our group.
Slow play
We were behind a woman's group play event. One group was way behind someone should have asked them to speed up. But was even worse later because of waking groups. Would be best if you start the second nine before 2 PM
The starter arbitrarily put us with a man and his wife. We had no choice in the matter. Both of them were very poor golfers. Very long round. Course was extremely crowded.
The snack bar closes at different times on different days ( no set time) Often, it is already closed when you finish your round.
Very relaxing time
Good simple course ,clean greens and fairways ,very fast greens, good breakfast and friendly staff, price with golf now was good
Course Was Ib Good Shape
Not bad for a course that gets a lot of play and a lot of criticism. After all the rain we've had, the grass on all of the fairways (West/North), seemed very nice and adequate. There were not a lot of golfers around, which is unusual for a Saturday. Also, do not get the hot dog. One of the worst ever, nitrates galore, too big, and the bun was sandwich style (never good for a dog). Bring back the good dogs, small in nature, excellent meat, etc., and never cut the bun all the way through.
Amelia's Secret
Great course. Length was a challenge. Need more tee boxes for different player,s ability. ladies tees were very long.
The course needs a lot of maintenance!
The staff is excellent and the layout is fine but the course needs a lot of maintenance.
Tee boxes over grown and not flat. Fairways are like a cow pasture.
After being rained out on 11, they gave us a rain check. When we returned the next day, they wanted more money to finish the back nine???? We will never play here again or recommend this course.
wide fairways & narrow fairway
The front (west) you can hammer away, no water issues whereas the back (south) the lines tighten up and water comes into play. The course is well kept but an average Florida style one.
The greens were bad but the fairways were very good.
I played with my grandson and we had a good time. It was his first time playing the course so it took some extra time but we were not pushed and finished the round in about 3 hours.
Nice place to play
Had a nice round at the West/South course. It was very wet due to all the rains and the fairways could be improved, but we enjoyed our round and the price was right. I would go back and play there.

Poor management. You should say something to the General Manager Steve Murphy who assured me that his door was always open to help address concerns. I don’t believe it though as when I brought my concerns to him he did nothing to address it. Good luck getting any response or improvement. Their focus seems to be the tournaments 3 times a week and couldn’t care less about others wanting to play. What a shame.
