North/West at Fernandina Beach Golf Club
About
Fernandina Beach Golf Club is home to three distinct nines, the North, South, and West that make up three different 18-hole combinations. This 27-hole facility boasts a unique configuration on each of the nines for a truly diverse golfing experience. The North/West course at Fernandina Beach Golf Club combines the longest nine, the West, and the shortest nine, the North. The North nine features undulating greens and water hazards but the generous, wide-open fairways of the West nine make the golf course accessible to players of all skill levels. Native foliage in addition to towering oaks and pines throughout the course allow for a scenic escape in addition to an excellent round.

greens need help
The vreens were bare in many spots but where they had grass it was way to high! It was like putting on a shag carpet. If you miss the sandy fairways...good luck. You had to move limbs and moss just to vetto your ball.
These courses need work
The south course nine was in poor condition. The greens were almost unputtable.
The north course nine was in much better condition. Both the fairways and greens were in playable condition.
West-South
The greens were very slow and some were very damaged. The course is under rehab and I know all concerned know that it needs it so I will await the rehab before going further. I will say that if you play these 27 holes all the time it has to make you a better golfer due to the tight fairways or cause you to quit the game ;0)
Potential unmet!
This courses as three nines and has a nice layout, but unfortunately the city is not putting money and or care into the course. The tee boxes had little grass, the fairways also had little grass(tight lies). The greens were in need of mowing. It is unfortunate that the course was in poor condition when we played it. Note that the south course is going to be closed until August: the greens will be getting an overhaul. Hopefully that is great news. Don't let this course go. Pro shop had lots to choose from and everyone there was very friendly.
They are working hard to make things better
The folks are great. They realize they have a lot of work to do, but they have great attitude. The greens are gone on several holes, so it won't be a quick revival.
poor conditions
Eh...not so much... the course is in ROUGH shape. I love the fact that their are three nines. I don't normally play out of mud, so this course was more challenging than it should have been.
Poor condition
Play this course often and the condition has went downhill as of late. Greens are slow and long and fairways were more like hitting from the rough with many bare spots
We played all 27 holes on one day
We played after heavy rain but the course drained well and we enjoyed the south and north courses so much that we decided to play the west course too. The latter has very long Par 5s. The quality of the fairways is not great and some of the greens are in poor condition but the overall experience was enjoyable. Very friendly and accommodating staff. The club's central location on Amelia Island is very convenient. We would recommend the course to anybody who is not too fussy. Advice: bring mosquito repellent!
OK Value for Money. Spend more and play North Hampton
The course wasn't in near as good of shape as I remember it being. I had to move my ball every time in the fairway just to find a good spot to hit from and the greens were just ok. The South course was in better shape than the North. Pace of play was also slow. There is no ranger on the course so my partner and I had to wait on 4 straight holes while a father attempted to teach his two kids how to hit a golf ball. We would make it to the tee before they would leave it and still wouldn't allow us to play through. They were also waking while we were riding and had a clear course ahead. The only thing that will bring me back to this course is the price and only for the twilight rate. Even without the slow pace of place this isn't worth $46 or even $35.
GREAT COURSE
Tee boxes and fairways were excellent. All greens were in good shape and rolled smooth.
Same ol' course
The course is on its way back to LOUSY! The greens on there way back to Bad.Off the edge of the fairways are like hitting out of a trap. The price is absolutely ridiculous for this course!!I can't say enough bad things about this place.Sad part...it doesn't need to be.
Great day at the course
The overall condition was great and the weather was wonderful. I would recommend this course to others whether a beginner or more seasoned golfer. The staff is friendly and always helpful.
Great public course
Good winter greens. Fairways were winter thin, but it is February. Long course. Average player should play from the green tees.
Nice Course Excellent Value
Great value, moderate difficulty. Not many hazards nor no long carries. Excellent course for high handicappers. Pace of play was slow because of a tournament. Usually, pace of play is very good. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Snack bar food is very good and very quick. Will come back often.
This course was a waste of money.
Had one person at counter line backed up to pay.Had to wait on carts , sent to play south course was backed up at tee box 8 carts deep. A lot of confusion just getting started & even more again at the turn.
Prepare for a draw on the 1st hole on the South Course
I enjoy playing there the staff is friendly and the course is in great shape. For the money cannot be beaten
Save your money
Played all 3 nine holes the course offers. It could be a very nice course with the proper manger. The grounds including the course needs a lot to care. Plus attention to very slow play. Pay $10 more and play the two other courses nearby.
Stick to the West Course
I did the North course for the front 9 and then the West course for the back 9. The North course was not very good or well maintained, but the West course was beautiful. What I would recommend, and what I did for future visits, is do the West course twice. If you do that, then you'll have a really good experience. The West course is of good quality.
Challenging and fair - not much water to avoid.
Staff was friendly and accomodating. Some fairways and cart paths were on rough condition side - most greens in good shape. Minimal hazards/OB's.
Very reasonable in cost and then discounted further (25%) with GolfNow, (which proshop did not offer to match in advance).
