West/South at Fernandina Beach Golf Club
About
Just north of the Jacksonville Airport, Fernandina Beach Golf Club offers three 18-hole courses that are conveniently located within distance of both Jacksonville and the beach. There are three distinct nines at the club that create three different 18-hole combinations. The West/South combination is the tournament course at Fernandina Beach Golf Club. The West nine is long and there is a challenging par-5 that is one of the most difficult on the golf course. The South nine features an abundance of trees and water hazards, putting a heavier emphasis on accuracy rather than distance in scoring well. The golf course is also considered a perfect example of scenic Florida golf with native foliage and wildlife throughout.

Golfer Reviews
Good Value on the Island
Because this is a municipal course, it is less well maintained than the private courses on Amelia Island. But the value for the price is there, it's relatively easy to get a tee time, and the staff is courteous.
Fernandina
Nice course with excellent greens. Nice fairways with, but not too difficult.
Fernandina Beach Golf 12-29-14
I have played this course for many years and had seen a decline in course conditions over the last few years. HOWEVER, this time the course was in the best shape I've seen it in in quite some time. The new greens on the South course are starting to mature and were in great shape.
Great time
I was paired up with Dave a 70 year young man, I'm well under that age, Dave and I had a great time and finished havingenjoyed a warm December day and a good friendly game. The course was a pleasure to play and Dave help me with the layout. Thank you to the staff and Dave. I will be back soon I hope.
Good Value
The greens were in good shape (especially South-Course), the fairways (all courses) are to improve.
All in all a good deal for the money
Great deal
We chose the all inclusive package with range balls, greens fee, cart and lunch for $30.00 each. Great value! Will definitely be coming back.
good value
Nice course, not to difficult, I would play again.
The course greens are in excellent shape
It's an old course and worn around the edges. The fairways are oak lined making it difficult to maintain the grass and the f/w needs weed control. Overall it's a good value for the money
awesome course
Staff over the top friendly and fee includes lunch...unbelievable
Good value
Greens are getting better. Rough was not so good. Lots of ants on tee boxes
Don't bother
Wow, not worth the money at any price. Greens were ok. Rough was US OPEN +++, UNCUT clumps of grass around greens, lots of fallen trees, terrible cart paths, staff lied about conditions and the carts were old gas and dirty.
Needs more work
I played the South course first. They have put in new greens and they were in good shape. However the rest of the course wasn't. Could land in the fairway and not have a good lie. Forget the rough, no grass or lots of weeds. Hard to play out of. Then I went to the North course. I liked the layout a lot better and the course was in better shape. Greens were good too. Course in a lot better shape than last year, but they still have a ways to go.
Rocking a golf outing with mysons!
Great location, great staff, great value for your dollar. Played the South 9 first - great challenge for us (99-105 score golfers). Played West 9 for our back 8 and really enjoy that course, hoping the "greens under repair" with the aeration process doesn't take too much longer.
Thanks for another great game of golf!
DK n sons
the roughit's too long
the greens were in good shapebut the fairway in the rough we're in terrible shape you would lose your ballif you went out of the fairway just a few yardsthis is not the US Openso try cutting the rough down a little bit
Fernandina golf club
This corse was average, the fairways could use some touching up and the greens on the north course are very small some about 10 yrds wide if that??
work pays off
First, thanks to the management for spending some time and money on the GRASS. I am happy to say there is grass in the fairways, around the greens and the greens are green! The course has come back. It is in better shape than it has been in 2 years. GO PLAY! Oh, the south is now reopened with many changes, all good.
