Bent Creek Golf Course
About
Since the opening of Bent Creek Golf Course in 1989, the 6,420-yard, par-71 course has provided a challenging golf experience for residents of Northeast Florida and visitors alike.
Crafted by renowned architect Bobby Weed with consulting services by Mark McCumber, Bent Creek's meandering terrain takes golfers through a certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary, towering pines and alongside creeks and swales. The championship layout boasts Bermuda grass greens, plush fairways and a state-of-the-art lighted practice facility - home of the Bent Creek Golf Academy.
From the back tees, Bent Creek carries a rating of 71.6 and a slope of 136. The challenge starts with the first hole, which measures 538 yards from the gold tees, just 20 yards short of No. 15, the longest hole on the golf course.

Bent Creek GC
Cause is in good shape. Greens were a little inconsistent, one fast one not so fast. Traps need work, tend to be hard packed and not sandy.
Played Bent Creek Monday Mid-Day
Teed off around 11:30AM on Monday 7/26. Pace of play was slow once I caught up with the golfers in front of me. Course is in average condition for a public course in Jacksonville. Tee boxes, fairways, and rough are all in acceptable condition. Greens are a mixed bag with quite a few bald spots. Course layout is player friendly (if you don't have a wicked slice). Staff is friendly.
Great experience
The course was great. I'm not a big fan of forced carries, but that's Florida golf for you and its only three holes. Make sure you play with someone who has been there before or you might run into some hazards you didn't know were there. The practice putting green was a bit faster than the greens out on the course. Overall though, I really enjoyed this course and shot my career low round! I'll be back.
Bent Creek last of June 2016
Problem greens and tee boxes. Rest of the course was pretty good. Sand traps were like mud.
Impeccably slow day
Got to the course for an early tee time, only to hit a line of people waiting at the first tee for the groups ahead and starter to let you out. After waiting for two foursomes ahead of our group, one being what seemed like high handicap golfers playing from the back tees, yet hitting tress on their drives right off the tee box and should have been up on the silvers. Stater finally let us out after almost thirty minutes of waiting. Greens on the front nine where very patchy and in some places bare. Putting was pointless on many of the front nine greens. Pace of play put us at a pace of a five hour round. Constant waiting on every tee box. A quick early morning round turned into finishing after 1pm and unpleasant time on the course.
We really appreciate your input.
We take pace of play very seriously and our team works hard every day to make sure everyone's experience is a good one. Your feedback is critical to our improvement as a team and golf course.
We look forward to you giving us another try!
Wow! Very Impressed
Found a really great deal online and decided to give it a try! I play all around Jax and I have never played Bent Creek before. Awesome layout and pretty nice practice facility. Good customer service inside and out. Saw the ranger on several occasion making sure pace was moving. Played in 4 hours 15 minutes on a busy day.
Was really pleased with my experience. A must play if you live in Jax!
Thanks for the great review!
We really appreciate your business.
Always a good time
One of the most fun tracks in the Jacksonville area. Great mixture of long and short holes and par 3s that offer variety and the use of a different club on each. The greens had recently been punched and sanded but we're still relatively quick, though a tiny bit bumpy. Played in 4 hours 5 minutes even with a beginner in our group. Plenty of water stations around the course and several visits from the beverage cart.
Thanks for the awesome review. We cant wait to have you back!
Pleasantly surprised
Fairways excellent, first and second cut around greens excellent. Bunkers still terrible but at least they didn't have standing water, tee boxes need a little work. Overall very pleased with condition
Thanks for your feedback!
Course is looking great... Perfect time to come visit us again.
Love the course. Great layout.
First, greeted by a welcoming staff when we signed in. Very helpful in letting us know the condition of the course. I believe the course is well laid out. A good balance between water, hazards, tree's and some lowlands that you have to clear off the tee box. The course was well maintained and in good shape. There was some recent arriation but things seemed to be shaping up nicely. Greens, some slower than others but that's to be expected. I will be back for more. Thank you BCGC
Thanks Shooter!
Time for another visit?
Great course!
Excellent course with all the extras. Course has components to challenge every aspect of the game.
Great course
Very good course to play. Challenges to all parts of your game. Worth the money.
5/13/16
Way too many people playing with no control of tee times. Foot golf should be on its on course and not at the same time with people playing golf
Not bad
Greens were very slow, cart paths need of lots of repairs. Golf cart had seen better days. Course was in decent shape and staff was very nice though.
Very nice course
The course is in excellent shape. The only minor complaint is the that the tee boxes need some work, but fairways and greens are great. I also like that you can bring the kids and not feel pressured by anyone. Very enjoyable all around.
Hidden Gem, but....
Bent Creek is a challenging course. It is a great value for the money. The course is always in good shape and despite all the water around the course it drains fairly well. The staff is AWESOME. Two things to keep in mind: They offer something called foot golf and they keep the holes and flags in, which makes it difficult from the tee box to know where you are hitting. The staff, although very friendly, need to pay more attention on controlling the pace of play. They allow slower golfers to back up those that are played better / faster. Otherwise, make the trip to Bent Creek!
Alittle challenging if ur a fader of the ball!
Course is in good shape! Lots of water down the right side of most holes! A few nice and short par threes with some testing par 5's! Overall was impressed with this course for the money!
Challenging course.
Challenging layout. Greens are in good shape.
Nice Course, Nice Staff
Excellent condition, Excellent staff, But most important pace of play was terrific moved right along. Only downfall and it was minor but still worth mentioning the roving snack cart that they have was only seen 1 time in over 3 hours of play. But like I said minor had our own drinks and they do have water stations setup. Will be back.
Major Improvement
The greens are way better than the last time I play here. The grass is coming in quite well now. While they were recently aerated they were punched with the small holes and should be in top form for next weekends round.
Getting Better
I played on 3/12/16. The staff was awesome. The course is challenging. There were a few issues on about half the greens. Dead grass that made putting more challenging that it should have been. This course also has a "foot golf" option. Although there was not degradation to the course, they leave the flags for the foot golf in the holes. This makes it a bit confusing, especially on blind shots. The course is a bit remote, but it is a good value.
