A Diamond in the Rough
This is one of north Florida's great golf layouts. Challenging for all levels of golfers.
The owners of this facility have changed through the years but the current owners need to accept their responsibility of ownership and start investing in the care and maintenance of this facility. Shame on the current ownership for not maintaining this once great course. If all they do is fix the back nine, it would greatly improve the lasting impression of the course. What happened to the front 9? I gave this course a 2 based only on the course conditions, that is why I call it a diamond in the rough!
Waste of Money
Greens that were under repair several months ago are in worse condition now than they were prior to the repairs. I would say 75% of the greens are only sand (no grass) and have been this way for months. By far the absolute worst greens I have ever played on and I have played on some bad ones.
I can book a tee time on golf now for less than $20.00 for a weekend tee time during the day at a course that is leaps and bounds better than this course that will charge you well over $43.00. It is absolutely NOT worth the price you pay.
Good design/poor greens
Have played this over the years. Heard they were redoing greens last year... give them a try again. Over half the greens had little grass. Very disappointed. Design is good and staff are freindly. For the greens fee $ not worth it. They need to bring this course back to where it was.
Great day of Golf
The greens had a top dressing but they rolled very nice. The fairway and tee boxes were in good shape. The staff were very nice also, We had a good experience.
Coarse has tight fairways
Great coarse. Greens maintained well. Overall experience was good.
Pretty course
Course has some pretty holes. Fairways were good,
some greens a little spotty. Overall a nice course.
Stuck behind an outing
With the exception of the first few greens, the course was in good shape. Pace of play was horrible as we were stuck behind an outing, and was out there for what seemed to be an eternity.
Golf course was very convenient for friends who flew in from NY.
Masters Sunday
May have been a nice course once....tore up greens hadn't been cut in days, like putting on a sidewalk....seems like zero course management and the place was packed....can't understand why?...this place needs to spend a lot more time on maintenance
Something should be done to protect golf courses from idiotic comments like this... I played there on Sat. and the course is in nice shape and the greens are smooth, not even close to the comments made and I play all over town, EVERY WEEK!!! Not surprised about being from NJ...
Nice course in nice condition
Very good experience. Challenging course but extremely playable.
Convenient, but Average Golf
Course is very well located and interesting to play, but conditions are far from exceptional.
Turf conditions were pretty poor on greens and OK on fairways (in fairness, this round in early April follows a very difficult winter in the area). Staff was very courteous and convenience to most of the Greater JAX area is hard to beat.
With cart paths were cracked in many places, no towels provided in the cart, minimal water stations, etc., leads the judgement that this is OK basic golf, but not much more.
Dirt greens and mud bunkers
Our group dropped the course when they did not repair greens a more than a year ago. We tried again yesterday. There was no change, but to be fair, the pratice geen had the same poor quality, so we could pratice with existing conditions. Price should be $25-$29 Jacksonville has many better courses for $40 plus.
great day for golf!
I had played the course 5 years ago and had not been back because I had a negative experience. Gave it another shot this week and was impressed with the improvements. Will go back again in the near future!
Problem greens
Nice track and very friendly staff but the greens are just not worth the trip around this place at present.
Many of the bunkers need repair as well. Lack of maint cost me a couple of shots.
Course in Great Shape
WP is a great track, in super condition and a fantastic value. We played it right after sanding and the greens really looked great.
Evening round in March
Joined up with 3 guys - handicaps 0,3,16 - me 11 - lovely people and we had a fun round. Course only OK in condition, but perfectly enjoyable. Am sure will improve a lot over next 6 weeks. Fantastic value at $30 and a well designed, tough course - we played of back tees and it is long off them! Much to enjoy about this place and access very easy. Pace of play good.
This course is challenging and fun
Staff very friendly and helpful. Pace of play very good-4 hrs. Nice mix of holes; some quite challenging and others just straight forward without hazards other than avoiding sand traps.
Good Times
This was a pretty fun course. The staff was great, good atmosphere. The only set back was that the greens were really sandy because of all of the rain we had gotten recently. All in all I would play this course again!
good game
Course is in great shape, greens smooth and fast despite being aerated last week. lots of water and palmetto hazards make it hard in windy conditions to score well.

Reviews like this are entirely unfair to the golf course... yes they have 3 greens (#1,8,11) that could be considered in fair to poor condition HOWEVER, the other 15 greens, the tee boxes, fairways, rough and approaches are in excellent shape and should NOT be subject to an overall "bashing" from this reviewer. 75% is not even close to correct and the 3 greens in question were good until 2 weeks ago when the heat from TPC week checked out the overseed in just a few days. This course is in good shape MOST of the time... some people like to complain like the world is coming to an end when it simply is not.
