18th Green at Queen's Harbour Photo submitted by mcstanley78 on 08/09/2013
Slow, painful play-QH
The course layout at Queens is very good, Conditions were good considering they are only a few weeks out from aeration.
Probably just the circumstance of the day but the play was very slow, 18 holes in 5 hours 15 minutes!
It would have been good to have a course ranger reminding groups to play a little faster and keep up to group ahead of you, at the very least.
Staff and cart barn guys were all polite and helpful.
Will definitely return.
Bring plenty of balls!
We knewthe course was having the greens aereated, but had an enjoyable day anyway. This is definitely a course where familiarity helps a ton. Going from 3 to 4 is a good distance and not very clearly marked so we doubled back. Trouble isn’t always obvious and placement can be critical on quite a few holes. I plan to put it on the list the next time I’m in town to see if I can improve on the mess I made. I would like to see it in regular shape, too.
Nice course, challenging, friendly staff!
Had a good time playing this course — lots of slope on the greens, and water on nearly every hole. It was a fun challenge with a variety of holes requiring different strategies from the tee. Staff was great and friendly, and despite the greens being freshly aerated, it was still a very enjoyable round of golf!
Good course, but pace of play at times can be awful
I’ve played Queens a ton of times, and conditions over the years have been all over the place. A mo th or two ago the course looked bad. Thankfully it looks a lot better, and hopefully some of the recent rain will help to hold that going forward. We played on a Sunday, and I know pace of play on weekends is hit or miss, but this was the worst pace of play day I’ve ever seen anywhere lol. We quit after 9 holes because the front nine took 3 hrs, and when we got to the 10th tee box, there was a severe back up. This round would have taken 6 hours without a doubt, and that’s just unacceptable. Hopefully they do a better job of course management with either more spread out tee times, or course Marshalls speeding things up. It didn’t help that several of the groups ahead of us appeared to be beginners/struggling. I’ll be back, but just use caution playing on a weekend with a packed tee sheet.
Best course in Jax
Pace of play was terrible. 4.5 hours to complete the round was excessive. Need “hot dog at the turn availability”. Course was in fantastic shape.
Nice course
The course layout is challenging and nestled in a beautiful neighborhood with great oak trees and nice homes. Lots of water on most holes. the greens were very fast and took a few holes to not over shoot the cup but even then just tap the ball and watch it roll 5 ft past the cup.
I’ll be back, but I cannot recommend the club house as the club house is old and the staff do not seem interested in catering to clients.
For new golfers
For all the new golfers, when you have the group behind you riding you every hole, YOU LET THEM PLAY THROUGH !!! I don’t understand the lack of etiquette, is it just ego ? Moving on, course is in fine condition , greens are nothing special actually pretty bumpy and not worth $75 plus dollars. Tee boxes and fairway are good enough. Staff was nice. Pace of play terrible as usual with most new/bad golfers around Jax having no clue about etiquette.
Very nice course
The course was in good shape and the staff was friendly. it is a nice intrawatercoastal golf course. I would play there again.
Long live the Queen
The course is in better then expected shape given only recently have we had significant rain. Green are in very good shape. Many of the black tees were set to the gold tee level. The course played long for my game.
Paired with some very good men. Always a fun place to play.
Great Course
First time playing this course. The staff and the marshal was extremely nice and appreciated me choosing the course.

Unfortunately this course is just slow, doesn't matter what day of the week it is either.
