18th Green at Queen's Harbour Photo submitted by mcstanley78 on 08/09/2013
Could be better
Fairways and tee boxes great. Greens could be better. Looked as though the greens keeper used a setting too low on the mower and several had some burned stripes. Plus maybe a little burned out and not watered enough. We’re definitely a little bumpy compared to how they’ve been in the past. The main issue with QH has ALWAYS been pace of play. Was on pace for a four hr round (front nine in two hrs) and then two threesomes backed up the 10th tee with no one in front of them. Turned it into a three hr back nine. Five hrs on a Friday is just too much. The last 4-5 times I’ve played there it has been 5hr rounds. Ranger in front none at hole five. Never saw him the rest of the day. It was literally a 15 minute wait on every tee shot and every second shot on the back nine. Hadn’t played there in 4-5 months because of this issue. Will likely not come back for a long while because of the same.
Hard (but great) course for the average golfer
Queens Harbor keeps its course in great condition for a public course in Jacksonville and the price reflects it. If you want to play 18 holes solo after work it is certainly doable as there are hardly any people there on weekday evenings. The best bang for your buck is to play weekdays after 5:00 PM. That being said the average golfer will have a hard time here. The course is very long and narrow with lots of water. High handicap golfers will likely not want to play the course due to difficulty.
top notch
great shape, never a bad lie in the fairway, green were fast but fair. never waited fpr a shot, let a single play through...nice course
Great Course
Great course to play. Interesting holes. Course staff were lovely. Food was great. Thank you
Awesome! Exceeded expectations
Newer golfer just getting into and trying different courses around the area. This is by far the best course I’ve played yet from the challenge, to the greens to the amenities and the setting. Loved it. Will be back.
The new Windsor Parke
Avoid at all costs. For $85 you get carts that are literally falling apart, greens that have been scalped, no GPS, and one of the few courses in FL without a lightning detection system (to name a few). For one of the most affluent neighborhoods in Jax, it’s a shame they’ve let the course mirror the condition of Windsor.
Great track
Fun track to play that is typically kept in pretty great shape. One of my favorites to play when the price is 60 or less
Love playing this course. Difficult layout.
I always enjoy playing Queen Harbor. I play using the Golf now app and we bailed after nine holes because it looked like weather was coming in. The front desk said I needed to contact Golf now to get a nine hole rain check. When I did this, the representative contacted the front desk who refused to give us that nine hole Rain check because the course was still playable. My partner is deathly afraid of lightning which was in the area. I was pretty upset that we could not get a nine hole of rain check since we play there often, usually once weekly.
Slow, painful play-QH
The course layout at Queens is very good, Conditions were good considering they are only a few weeks out from aeration.
Probably just the circumstance of the day but the play was very slow, 18 holes in 5 hours 15 minutes!
It would have been good to have a course ranger reminding groups to play a little faster and keep up to group ahead of you, at the very least.
Staff and cart barn guys were all polite and helpful.
Will definitely return.
Bring plenty of balls!
We knewthe course was having the greens aereated, but had an enjoyable day anyway. This is definitely a course where familiarity helps a ton. Going from 3 to 4 is a good distance and not very clearly marked so we doubled back. Trouble isn’t always obvious and placement can be critical on quite a few holes. I plan to put it on the list the next time I’m in town to see if I can improve on the mess I made. I would like to see it in regular shape, too.
Nice course, challenging, friendly staff!
Had a good time playing this course — lots of slope on the greens, and water on nearly every hole. It was a fun challenge with a variety of holes requiring different strategies from the tee. Staff was great and friendly, and despite the greens being freshly aerated, it was still a very enjoyable round of golf!

Unfortunately this course is just slow, doesn't matter what day of the week it is either.
