5 Stars, 10 out 10, Two Thumbs Up, etc., etc.,
This place is the best place I have played since moving to Orlando three months ago and I have played a lot of the big name courses so far.
I rate this course ahead of my previous #1, Shingle Creek, because it is very tranquil (similar to the name). The course was in great condition, the greens were fast (they had a PGA North Florida event starting a tournament there the next day). The course couldn't have been in much better shape. The staff treats you like Donald Trump from the time you pull up to the time you leave. If you want something, just ask them.
Complimentary valet parking; just pull up, get out. Go inside, check-in, and then walk out to your cart with your bag on it all set to go! :-# When your finished, same thing - pull your cart up, walk out front, and there is your car all loaded up ready to go home! :-#
This is a links style course #used to be Disney's Osprey Ridge; totally renovated 18 mos. ago by Four Seasons#. You do not have a turn back at the clubhouse; you really go OUT and back IN #how the scorecards originally got their respective names for the front and back 9s). They have huts where you can get free bottles of spring water, apples, and oranges #on the house). Plenty of places for restroom breaks throughout course and extremely well taken care of / maintained.
The driving range is mowed just like a hole. There is a fairway, rough, and target flags of varying color. Yardage to each flag is marked on a board. The club-caddies are made of nice Polywood. The range balls, to top things off, are Pro V1 Practice balls - the real deal boys!
Lots of birds and deer to see. I heard there are gators but we didn't see any the whole round.
The WHITE tees play around 6,000. If you play WHITE the par 3s will be short; I think we played them at 180, 145, 135, 140, and 100 yds. If you hit drives longer than 240 yds, you may want to move back one set as the WHITE tees will never leave you with more than a 9-iron in. I played with three buds from work who don't play much so I played WHITE with them to keep it moving.
The carts have nice plush seats and have a lot of pep to them. The GPS is touchscreen so you can see yardages to different layups on the course by touching them. Very nice carts!
At the end, they have a really nice patio with rocking chairs, teak wood tables, and wicker seating. Very nice!
The pro-shop is like a retail store more than it is a pro-shop. They have some odd things in there that you typically wouldn't buy at a pro hop like handbags and such and jewelry.
The restaurant was under renovation so I can't comment on food or beverage there.
Wow!
The golf course and golf experience were fantastic. From the moment I rolled up to complementary valet parking to the moment I left the staff was completely aligned with the course....pretty much perfect! I feel like a fool for not playing Tranquilo before.
Golf as it should be
This course was awesome, no condos, etc. The only structure that you could see was the beautiful Four Seasons hotel. Very challenging Par 3's. Very well maintained. Plenty of wild life, saw 3 deers feeding right off a green. I would definately play here again.
A Gem
One of the best courses anywhere. Superb condition in all areas. Some breathtaking holes, some very tough ones. Staff and facilities are first rate. Not cheap but if money is not a problem it provides a memorable experience.
Perfect course conditions
I had a group of 11 friends in town for a golf outing when I received a dealcaddy offer to play this course. I am so happy we took advantage of it. Having played the course numerous times when it was part of Disney, I had not played it since the Four Seasons took over. The staff was as friendly as I have ever encountered at a golf course, but the thing that impressed everyone in our group the most was the conditions of the golf course. The fairways were perfect. The greens were perfect. The sand traps were in the best condition of any traps I have ever had the misfortune to hit out of! We played at two other resort courses the following two days, but honestly, those tracks seemed like cow pastures after playing Tranquilo. If there was any downside, it was that the rate was still a little pricey (but well worth it) even with the dealcaddy offer. Still, I would play this course under its current ownership/management any day of the week! I've never recommended a course higher.
Great staff ! Great Course
wonderful golf course! Would definitely recommend to friends and family!
Must Play
Played this course 3x on my 2 week vacation. Practice facilities are superior to any course in the area. Do yourself a favor and arrive early to take advantage of the driving range, large putting green, and chipping area. Course was playing great, at other Orlando golf courses, fairways were cut so short, it made it tough to make a divot. At Tranquillo, fairways were lush and in great shape. Change in elevation is hard to find around Orlando and this course uses it wonderfully. Staff goes above and beyond to make everyone feel comfortable. The service reminds me of private golf courses. If you are looking a superior golf course and equally great service, make sure to book a tee time.
First Class Experience.
This is an excellent course. Interesting, well maintained and fair.
The staff is exemplary. They knock themselves out trying to make sure you have a first class experience. Which I did.
They were not busy the day I played and they allowed me to park my car in a covered protected area. Very nice. I played as a single in under 3 hours. Also very nice. Practice range has ProV1's.
Pretty Good, but Overpriced
I had played the course many times as Osprey Ridge. Having just recently reopened from renovations, and this being the peak of the winter golf season, I was expecting lush, green, overseed everywhere. This is what the website depicts in its fresh from renovation photographs and was expecting this as most Golf Now reviews rated the course conditions as excellent. The greens were in really good shape and rolled true and at a fair speed. Fairways were mainly good, but still there were some awfully bare lies in the middle of the fairways. I expect more from the Four Seasons. Pro V1 ranges balls were a nice touch, but we'll see how long that lasts.
Solid Florida play made better by renovation
Formerly Osprey Ridge, Tranquilo Golf Club has never looked better, especially after a renovation supervised by architect Tom Fazio. There wasn't much change to the routing, but the bunkers are sharper, the sand brighter and greens run truer. There's plenty of fairway on this championship course, so if you drive it well, there will be opportunities for scoring. Palm trees, ample water and lots of deep bunkers are the hazards that make it more challenging.
Awesome Course
Just AWESOME. This is the best course I have seen in Florida. Mission Inn is now my second favorite. The greens were superb and the fairways pristine. The staff was very friendly and the wildlife abundant. The price was a little steep but worth the experience. Hopefully summer rates will be better. Great layout and just a wonderful experience. I will play it again and look forward to it.
Superb
Great "resort" course. Terrific staff with top-notch service. The routing makes you feel far from the big city, even though far in the distance you can hear a train whistle from DisneyWorld. Beautifully kept, the course was great fun to play.
Played here years ago as Osprey Ridge
Excellent from start to finish. This is how a golf experience should be. It felt like our own private course. Everything they have done to re-do this facility has been done right. It would appear that if you are not friendly or don't care about the customer, you can't work here. I'll be back.
Pristine conditions
I played this course many times when it was Osprey Ridge. At that time it was my favorite course.
Four Seasons has improved upon an already outstanding course, the conditions and greens were perfect.
The golf carts were luxurious and the entire experience was 5 star.
i think its Orlando's finest golfing experience.
Redesigned "Osprey Ridge" worth playing!
We had played Osprey Ridge several times in the past and looked forward to playing Tranquilo. The course layout has been slightly changed because of the building of the new "Four Seasons" hotel, together with a few (non-distracting) high end homes which can be seen from several holes. Other than the new par 3 18th hole, the course plays as beautifully as ever. The staff was incredibly friendly throughout. The course was relatively empty because it has only recently reopened. A truly beautiful setting at Disney!
This track is in great shape, must Play!t
I have played here over 12 times, first time under new ownership. First was greeted by name in the parking lot to pick me up. I was shown around and the place is beautiful. Very friendly staff from the pro shop to the starter. Hit a few dozen balls on the range to warm up (perfect conditions), putted for a while, all new greens, a little slow (9-10) but it had rained hard for a few days and over night. Do not judge a course when it rained a recorded amount at the end of November.
It is true only a few changes to the actual layout, removed the old first hole and added a nice little par 3 on the back 9. They did a lot of clean up on the edges, cleaned up the bunkers and the new greens roll very true. I was asked what I thought when I finished, Clean good sight lines and beautiful.
If you are a high handicap, used to playing retirement condo courses at $39 per round then this is not for you. If you like a PGA quality course, friendly staff, excellent warm up area a challenging layout where you use every club in the bag then this is a deal at under $150. I'm 56 broke 80 from the gold tees for under $100 as a Florida resident. I'm going back as much as I can.
Ok course but seriously overpriced
Basically its the Old Disney Osprey ridge with a few modifications, not all of them friendly.
Several holes have issues with water drainage and standing water killing grass on the fairways. Since this was an "upgrade" of the existing course, This should never have happened.
Not at all friendly towards the senior or even 18 handicap player. Shortish tees are white at 6000 yards. For example 18 a par 3, plays between 190 and 200 yards. I needed a driver there and even then with the wind couldn't reach the green.
Several forced carries are around 180-200 which is tough for the senior golfer. For better players and long drivers not difficult at all. Many shortish par 4s with not a lot of trouble on huge fairways.
But definitely a real challenge for the senior at the course and yardage.
Conditions were not that great considering the price - Waldorf Astoria much nicer for the price.
Great job Four Seasons did to the former Osprey Ridge course
Very nicely done renovation of the former Osprey Ridge course. Extremely private, great service, new greens are fabulous (they are smooth, and putt true).
Always in great shape
This course is fairly short but still has some challenging holes. You get to see a lot of wildlife playing at Osprey in the afternoons. This course is family friendly and is always kept in good condition. The course has wide fairways and the greens run a little slow for my preference but for resort type golfers it is ideal.
Excellent layout
I am sad this course is no longer run by Disney. It was sold to the Ritz in August of last year. Amazing layout, tons of wildlife. Always in excellent condition with many challenging holes. Great range and pro shop staff is great!
