About
The 18-hole Magnolia Course at Walt Disney World Golf Resort in Lake Buena Vista, FL is a resort golf course that opened in 1971. Designed by Joe Lee and Rocky Roquemore, Magnolia Course at Walt Disney World Golf Resort measures 7516 yards from the longest tees and has a slope rating of 141 and a 76.0 USGA rating. The course features 5 sets of tees for different skill levels. Greens and fairways are bermuda grass.
Of all the Disney courses, the Magnolia supports a greater abundance of wildlife. At any given time, you're likely to see deer, osprey, alligators and turtles. A flock of wild turkeys has brought several tournaments to a standstill while they pecked along its fairways. The course features elevated tees and greens with wide and generous fairways graced by over 1,500 magnolia trees that bloom from late spring to mid-summer. Brightly colored crape myrtles and oleanders, along with beds of blue plumbego and seasonal flowers, add sparkle to an otherwise dense, natural forest.

Solid Round
We booked our round at the end of August and we’re told they had just aerated the greens the week prior, so while we were nervous we still gave it a shot. For being aerated two weeks prior the greens were in really good shape and still fairly quick. There were a few greens with some patches but they strategically placed the pins away from these spots so the considerations were noticed. The tee boxes and fairways were in great shape as well and then of course your daily dose of turkeys and deer on the course
Disappointing greens
I chose this course because it was the first course among all three completed the aerification (end of May). However, the greens are still in very disappointing conditions. Quite a few damaged spots, sandy, soft and slow. We were expecting MUCH better conditions for the price it charges. Most other courses we played lately were in much better shape. Fairways and tee boxes were good, as well as the pace of play. On #10, surprisingly there were a family playing soccer on the left side of course fairway, not sure why!
We’ll try palm this coming weekend, hope that is better. Not recommending magnolia for sure!
With all that being said, services were excellent, the proshop even asked guests to wear masks.
It was a very pleasant experience. Nice golf course. Each hole was nicely designed. Only issue was the condition of the tee boxes. the white tees were in horrible condition. Otherwise very enjoyable experience
Great Condition
Greens have come back very nice from the aeration. Course was in excellent shape especially with all the rain the week before. Looked like they were adding grass to some tee boxes, which was needed, but these courses do get a lot of play. Can't wait to get back!
Bad condition
Disney makes waaaay tooo much money not to have pristine conditions. This course doesn’t match up to other great courses in the area.

Poor condition!
Not warned about aeration !

Aerated with no alert
Greens were punched and had not bounced back. No alert on golfnow when I booked.
Good condition but greens need some work.
We always love playing the course. The only issue was some of the greens had bare spots and some had bare spots that were full filled with sand. Overall the course was playable with no major issues.

Anytime your at Disney you will be treated right. Course was in great shape and the greens were running about an 8.
