Disney's Magnolia Golf Course
About
The 18-hole Magnolia Course at Walt Disney World Golf Resort in Lake Buena Vista, FL is a resort golf course that opened in 1971. Designed by Joe Lee and Rocky Roquemore, Magnolia Course at Walt Disney World Golf Resort measures 7516 yards from the longest tees and has a slope rating of 141 and a 76.0 USGA rating. The course features 5 sets of tees for different skill levels. Greens and fairways are bermuda grass.
Of all the Disney courses, the Magnolia supports a greater abundance of wildlife. At any given time, you're likely to see deer, osprey, alligators and turtles. A flock of wild turkeys has brought several tournaments to a standstill while they pecked along its fairways. The course features elevated tees and greens with wide and generous fairways graced by over 1,500 magnolia trees that bloom from late spring to mid-summer. Brightly colored crape myrtles and oleanders, along with beds of blue plumbego and seasonal flowers, add sparkle to an otherwise dense, natural forest.

Unfortunately, the climate of recent has not been conducive to healthy turf growth, but we expect that as the weather warms up again, that the vibrancy of the turf will again return.-Management Photo submitted by Ah1122 on 03/24/2021

This is the best course Disney has to offer!
This is my favorite of all the Disney courses it has a great layout and is fun to play. This is a course you can play if your a scratch golfer or a weekend duffer and enjoy it. The course was in good shape it could be a little better a few burn outs and around the greens needs some repairs but overall it was beautiful. The starter Gregg is awesome great advice and an overall pleasure to deal with. I will play here many more times in the future I love all these courses and Disney keeps the place in shape and if you catch the deals ..afordable..Truly
The happiest place on Turf lol
Another great disney golf course
Having played the palm course the day before, I thought I'd give the magnolia course a go and it definitely didn't disappoint! I actually preferred the magnolia course over the palm because of the way it's laid out as the fairways are a lot wider and approach shots in the green seemed to be more accessible (although fairways were wider, if you play your shot off the fairway, it'll take quite some time to find it if ever! The golf course was played back to front so 10-18 first and then 1-9, this is apparently because when they played the Disney classic there, that's the way the pros wanted to play it (hole 9 is nicer than 18 though so possibly why?). Most of the holes were pretty dry with the odd few exceptions however it's a lot, lot dryer than other golf courses throughout Florida at this time of the year. The greens were in good shape and rolled true (some quicker than others though!). The pro-shop staff and the staff at the bag drop off point were great and couldn't be more accommodating. Overall, another Disney course which retains that 'magical' yet very professional feel, a must if in the area.
Great Experience
I always wanted to play this course and really glad I did. It was neat to play a course where the PGA has been and watched on TV. Everything was awesome. The only thing was lunch at the turn was long and the staff in the hut were getting people's orders mixed up. Other than that I'm finding it difficult to find anything negative to say about the his place. Practice facilities - Nice Greens -fast true rolling and receptive. Fairways - 90% perfect. Tee blocks - well Maintained. Bunkers - consistent. The Mickey Mouse Bunkered Par 3 if tough, but if the wind is up, good luck. A par is a good score here in ideal conditions. If I ever get the opportunity to come back I will. Loved it.
Great Shape
In excellent condition. The greens were slightly sandy in the morning as it stuck to your club and ball because of the dew. Still rolled true. By mid morning they were much better. Not too fast, but not slow. Pace of play was a little slow, but that's to be expected for a Disney course with a lot of vacationers playing. Would recommend.
Nice condition, little slow
Course was in great shape. Greens were smooth and quick. Pace of play was slow on the front, took almost 2.5 hours. Back 9 picked up a little. Booked a tee time on golfnow. for some reason Disney moved our tee time back without even calling me or anything, no explanation why either when I got to the course and paid. He acted like it wasn't a big deal, I just wanted an explanation why they did it. The double book the front and back, we went off the back, it is what it is. Nice course, will probably be back to try the Palm course.
So beautiful, those mouse ear bunkers.
Greens and fairways were really good, especially considering the drought.
Unimpressive for Disney
The range was mostly sand. They are double booking the tee times. We had to go off the back. Took 5 hours. No ranger. Conditions were fair but for the price and the expectations of Disney, it was a sub-par experience.
Very nice course.
Tee times went off right to the mute. A few stoppages but fairly good movement throughout the day.
Great Round of Golf
It was the first time at this course and the staff were very helpful and friendly. Were offered range balls to practice. The course was in good shape, a little dry. Pace of play was good. Enjoyed the narratives at each hole, they all tell a story about PGA tours. Loved seeing the mickey mouse ears!
Wonderful course!!
The course was beautiful, challenging and the staff was super friendly. I can't wait to come back and play the rest of the Disney courses. We loved our time there!
I have only one concern to express. The lovely man who put my clubs on the back of our cart didn't secure them, resulting in significant scrapes and dings in my Taylormade driver and TM Spider putter when my bag fell off the back of our cart as we pulled away from the driving range area. I didn't say anything as I don't want to cause issues for anyone as it was an innocent mistake but double check your bag no matter where you play when an attendant puts them on your cart.
Disney Magnolia Course
Beautiful course. Not easy - but very fair. Abundant wildlife. GPS in carts. No condos or homes around course.
Sunrise Special
My recommendation for this course may be confusing. I am not a golfer who would normally play courses over $50 per round, but I found the Sunrise Special that allows you to play the back 9 HOLES for a discounted price of $35. This was a great deal, so I jumped on it. I was paired up with a family of three who played extremely slowly, so we were the cause of the slow play. The majority of the course was in great shape, but the greens were extremely sandy. I wasn't aware of any warnings that the greens had been recently sanded. The layout was fun, but not overly challenging.
Like everything else at Disney I thought it was overpriced. I would never pay $135 to play 18 holes on this course which is why I wouldn't recommend it, but I would recommend the sunrise special.
Magnolia is ok
Played magnolia second day at disney . Fun course good layout but to me no where near as nice as the palms course. Read that palms was renovated in 2013 and it looks great . Magnolia needs one also, needs to be freshed up. Fairways ok greens were great though. Like the palms smooth not fast not slow really nice greens. Paid $ 110 its about $75 course . I liked it it was a fun course but kind of surprised it hosted a tour event up until 2012. Try to find a deal and play magnolia
Expected much more of a Disney course..
We played Tranquillo on Friday and the Disney courses on Saturday ( Magnolia and Palm )..
At best average.. lots of bald patches on the course.. the area around the bunkers were particularly bad...
greens were average+..
Not impressed for a disney course... we had to wait almost at every hole for the second round...

Thought the course could have been watered more. It was a little dry. Overall it was a good round. Weather condition proberly caused the dry conditions. Not much rain recently

Unfortunately, last week, our golf courses, along with hundreds of other courses nationwide experienced a tee sheet software crash, and were unable to access our available inventory, which led to a lot of the confusion. We did our best to accommodate everyone, but apologize for the fact that your were inconvenienced by this situation.
We have also experienced a very hot and dry Spring here in Orlando, and our courses, along with most every other course in Central Florida are suffering from the drought conditions. Bring on the rain! :-)
