Disney's Magnolia Golf Course
About
The 18-hole Magnolia Course at Walt Disney World Golf Resort in Lake Buena Vista, FL is a resort golf course that opened in 1971. Designed by Joe Lee and Rocky Roquemore, Magnolia Course at Walt Disney World Golf Resort measures 7516 yards from the longest tees and has a slope rating of 141 and a 76.0 USGA rating. The course features 5 sets of tees for different skill levels. Greens and fairways are bermuda grass.
Of all the Disney courses, the Magnolia supports a greater abundance of wildlife. At any given time, you're likely to see deer, osprey, alligators and turtles. A flock of wild turkeys has brought several tournaments to a standstill while they pecked along its fairways. The course features elevated tees and greens with wide and generous fairways graced by over 1,500 magnolia trees that bloom from late spring to mid-summer. Brightly colored crape myrtles and oleanders, along with beds of blue plumbego and seasonal flowers, add sparkle to an otherwise dense, natural forest.

Unfortunately, the climate of recent has not been conducive to healthy turf growth, but we expect that as the weather warms up again, that the vibrancy of the turf will again return.-Management Photo submitted by Ah1122 on 03/24/2021

Beautiful golf course
The people are as always great the course isn't in beautiful schape I enjoy my round of golf.
The only thing I would like to say is that i have to pay for my wife she ride along with my
Excellenct
I have played this course several times and I enjoy the layout and i use all tee setup for challenge . This course allow me to go for every shot or stay home. I love it. Wish i had more time would have been a all day affair.
Magical
Loved the course. Choose you Tee Box carefully, go by yardage not color. The course is long with lots of hazards. The fairway Bunkers where a tough play. We met a nice guy at the range he asked to join us we said yes and had a Blast!! After our round of golf we decide to relax at the course and share a beverage.
Great time for my 1st time... I'll be Back !!!!
Good Layout. Iffy conditions
Played this course through golfnow on a Sunday morning. Got paired up with a nice group of 3 from Texas. Guy in pro shop was very friendly and starter was very friendly as well.
Course conditions were just OK. Tee boxes were probably the worst part of the course. Bunkers were in really good shape though and The layout of the course was pretty cool and pace of play wasn't awful. Finished in just about a little over 4 hours.
The other resort courses around Disney are in a lot better shape (Waldorf, Ritz, Grand Cypress, Tranquilo) but it is kind of cool that you are playing where the Tour was at one point. Just don't think it's close to tour conditions anymore. They are closing for a week this upcoming week so hopefully it's to work on some things.
Overall just average course but would definitely play again for right price.
Disney course just average
Layout of course great, although not in very good shape. Definitely a course for tourist. If you want to play nicer courses try Tranquilo, Ritz, or Waldorf
Great Course - Slightly Pricey
I paid $100 to play here and feel OK about it. It's a great course, but $100 is a little on the high side for most similar courses in my opinion. The fact that Jack and Tiger have won here makes it more worth it. The staff was extremely friendly. Can't really say much bad about it. I'd recommend it for the experience, but not necessarily the value, but hey, not everything is about value.
As expected!
Usually got at least two Disney courses on our roster every time we come over from UK.
LBV closed so played Magnolia and what a great course it is. Better shape than last time we played. Greens were fantastic and service second to none. Starter put us off the 10th and we covered first 9 holes in hour and half. Slight back up on front nine but still round in less than 4 hours. A joy to play
Sunrise 9
Good value, course is always kept in prestine condition.
Disappointed in DIsney and Palmer Golf
I have always wanted to play here, since the PGA did until 2012. I was disappointed in the conditions of the course for the price paid. The fairways were okay. No rough at all and the greens had a lot of patch work done on them. For the money I would look at other courses in the area. I had played Osprey and Palms before and was very happy. Disappointed in this course, especially since it is run by Palmer Golf.
Beautiful course, some things could be improved
The magnolia trees are very pretty. Some staff were nice, some were kind of surly. Lots of wide fairways. Greens were in great condition. The facilities are getting kind of tired.
Course has great greens
Great course to play, Check to make sure GPS works before you tee off. Mine didn't and I had to change carts after 9 holes.
Happy Mother's Day
A perfect Mother's Day (coming from a Dad). Found a 51% off deal for the entire family to go and play this great course. Mom agreed to the plan, daughters talked a good game and hung in for about 12 holes. Course was empty, allowed a few singles to play through us, but otherwise, a leisurely 3.5 hours. Weather was perfect, course was in great shape.
The only issue was that because the course was so deserted, almost all of the amenities were closed down. Angela was at the turn keeping us all happy.
Not what it used to be
I played this course about 10 years ago and it was absolutely immaculate came back for the first time today and wasn't really that impressed. Right off the bat you could tell the Tee boxes were not in very good condition. Once you got to the fairways that was plenty of brown spots and areas that needed attention. The greens were OK but nothing to write home about. The staff was good but not overwhelmingly friendly. For a course that once hosted a PGA tour event it's kind of fallen apart a little bit. It's still good don't get me wrong but it's not what it used to be

Slow play
Played this course before... love Disney courses but lately it's been slow and marshals are nowhere to be seen.
I am all for the 4.5 hour pace rule but at times holes get backed up... don't even need to pair up people but some groups have golfers that take way too many shots (practice shots/mulligans) and don't play ready golf.
For a place like Disney, there should be marshals either helping or moving pace. I know last time I read that the GPS device may "warn" you about slow play but for a game like golf, marshals are needed.
All in all, still love Disney courses but slow play can sometimes hurt your play.
great resort course
Top line course great shape for the use it gets
Overrated
This would've been a decent course for 1/2 the price. The round took nearly 6 hours without a marshal helping speed up play. This course gets A LOT of play. Not worth the time or money.

We hope that you will play our wonderful courses again in future visits to Orlando, so that we may exceed your expectations the next time. The pace of play is paramount to our guest's enjoyment of our courses, with our target being 4hrs 30min, and although we don't believe our pace of play was remotely close to 6 hours, there's a chance that it could have taken you in excess of 4hrs 30min to play, as busy as our golf courses have been of late.

Disney Magnolia Course
Played sunset round, real slow pace as large volume of players. Recommend a fishing pole with artificial lure for some casts while you wait. At dusk saw deer turkeys and many other native wildlife. No after course refreshment or meal at clubhouse. Recommend start no later than 1415 if you want to complete 18 holes. Plan a slow relaxing round of golf.
It sucked for $130 a round. Totally ridiculous.
For starters I was a yearly member of Disney for a few years. So I went to the Oak Trail course next door 3 times a week. It was maintained kind of ok. Like a 7 out of 10. Fine, it was a cheap executive course. Yesterday I did Magnolia. $130 for the round. It was maybe...maybe a 5 out of 10 on maintenance. Totally unacceptable. Plus, the GPS on board didn't work. Luckily I had my sky caddie. For $130 that is just nuts. And play was slow (ok..not their fault). It's a really nice course layout. But given the upkeep being awful, maybe..maybe...$50-60 would be in order in high season. But it wasn't. At the moment...total rip.

Great atmosphere
It was just a great experience to play golf in this entertainment atomosphere. Of course, the course itself was maintained well and it was fun to play!
Exciting and beautiful course to play
After playing the Palm course the day before, Magnolia was a new experience for me and it was a very exciting place to be. For a 6 handicap, it was definitely my kind of course. The fairways and greens were in fantastic shape for this time of year and the staff at the course were extremely accommodating and very nice. The only concern I would have with the course was the pace of play. We were behind a group of two, and a group of 4 ahead of them that were very slow. Waiting a very long time between shots on the front nine, but on the back nine it picked up a fair bit, which was good. I would certainly recommend this course to all age groups and handicaps as the course itself holds so much history that is displayed on every tee box. Knowing you've played a PGA course that greats like Tiger Woods and Jack Nicklaus have mastered feels very special.
