Disney's Magnolia Golf Course
About
The 18-hole Magnolia Course at Walt Disney World Golf Resort in Lake Buena Vista, FL is a resort golf course that opened in 1971. Designed by Joe Lee and Rocky Roquemore, Magnolia Course at Walt Disney World Golf Resort measures 7516 yards from the longest tees and has a slope rating of 141 and a 76.0 USGA rating. The course features 5 sets of tees for different skill levels. Greens and fairways are bermuda grass.
Of all the Disney courses, the Magnolia supports a greater abundance of wildlife. At any given time, you're likely to see deer, osprey, alligators and turtles. A flock of wild turkeys has brought several tournaments to a standstill while they pecked along its fairways. The course features elevated tees and greens with wide and generous fairways graced by over 1,500 magnolia trees that bloom from late spring to mid-summer. Brightly colored crape myrtles and oleanders, along with beds of blue plumbego and seasonal flowers, add sparkle to an otherwise dense, natural forest.

Unfortunately, the climate of recent has not been conducive to healthy turf growth, but we expect that as the weather warms up again, that the vibrancy of the turf will again return.-Management Photo submitted by Ah1122 on 03/24/2021

Got caught in the rain, but fun golf experience
Expected to pay more because it carries the "Disney" brand and with PGA Tour history. Value for the golf experience is average if you can afford to pay.
I liked this course very much, somewhat challenging and pleasing to 'my eye'.
Service was great.
It rained on us for the front 9, difficult to appreciate the scenery.
Can't wait to come play again. However, again the course conditions can use more attention.
worth the stop
a long track but very playabul in you keep within the marks greans roll true and med. to fast speed if your in orlando and playing golf make the stop you'll love it can't wait to get back and play again
great course. . greens were bad
It was a great course other than the greens were horrible. Not worth full in season rate with greens torn up and sandy.
Would not go back.
I wanted to play there since I have never played a Disney course. I wish I would have stayed home. I thought the course would be in the better shape then other courses in Orlando. Especially since in is a Disney course. I felt like they just did not care about keeping the course nice. Fairways had little to no grass in spots. Greens looked as if they did not get over seeded. I payed the Florida resident price of 58. But my Uncle paid the regular price of 125.00 since he is from PA. Two days later we played a course that was $36 a person that was in amazing condition. Save your money and play some where else.
Magnolia = slow and in poor condition
This was a complete disappointment:
* it took three hours to play the front nine
* the course was in poor conditions
Put this on your list of places to avoid!!!
slow
First nine was extremely slow, pace picked up on second nine. Driving range is well marked but limited space to hit due to amount of people on range and group lesson. Had to wait to for spot. Course isn't as green as it used to be due to lack of overseeding or grass type change. Greens were in very good shape and rolled very well and accepted shots equally well. For the price I expected better conditions on tees roughs fairways and traps. Staff was friendly and helpful! Electronic scorecard was not emailed after the request.
I would recommend
Greens were bumpy an a little slow but received very well. Tee's were fine and fairways a little chewed up in landing areas however most had been filled with sand. Considering the massive amount of play this course gets Disney has done a great job of maintaining it. Pace of play is acceptable an runs between 4:45 and 5 hours every time we play. I'm old enough to remember the pro's playing here and enjoy this track when in Orlando. Staff is 5 star and I would recommend.
Not what we thought
Not a good course, grounds were bad, will not play there again. Only good thing is we saw 2 alligators and wild turkeys. Would not recommend this course. Very disappointed.
FORMER PGA TOURNEY COURSE
ON & OFF SHOWERS SO COURSE WAS NOT FULL, PLAYED AS A 2some UNDER 4hrs. FORMER PGA TOURNEY COURSE THAT HAS BEEN CONVERTED TO A RESORT COURSE ( GREENS WERE MANAGEABLE) TIP TO DISNEY: PUT THE 10inch CUPS ON THE PAR 3 OAK COURSE!! I WOULD HAVE PLAYED OAKS WITH MY GRANDSON.
Tourist trap
The course is way too expensive for the quality it has to offer. The fairway are yellow at places, greens are not constant, bunkers are far from the pictures on their web site, you can play way better courses for the same money or less in the Orlando area
Well Used, but enjoyable.
The greens need some work, not at there best.
The course needs a little T L C & golfers need to look after it a little more & be told to by the starter.
Not the Happiest place on earth
Milo was the only happy guy there! Staff really wasn't pleasant....course play was very slow...not in great shape...you could tell it's "beat up"...
Not even a good value for the $75.00 golf now price
Not up to its Name
It is a nice course to play , but not up to Disney standards.Past course in much better shape.Would never pay their full price to play.
same as always
Play a lot, always in good shape, staff could be friendlier.
Poor condition, not at Disney Quality Level, Sad Case
Bought range balls for $12.00; no place to hit because range only has spaces of 8. Course is in fair to poor condition; fairways have many dry spots, no overseeding this past year so grass in many areas is sparse. Looks like cost savings projects are everywhere. Beverage cart is stationary for convenience of facility. Air compressor to clean shoes broke months ago and still not fixed, not working. Some sand traps packed very hard. Staff seems clueless on their ability to make things better. The only ones happy with Magnolia and Palm are the accountants who will be pleased with reduced costs, and they will be surprised at reduced revenues to follow. Disney needs a fix here!
Great experience
Awesome course,,will play every time I'm in the Orlando area,,a must play
Ugly
Horrible pace of play and ranger said "too bad" we're very busy.
Overrated
The course was in good shape considering the time of year but is overrated for what we paid to play. Hard to believe it was a PGA Tour stop. Pace of play was fine but the weather was rainy the day we played so there weren't many people playing that day.
5.5 houers is too long
Although the course has a very nice and challenging layout, the course conditions were very poor compared to other courses we played. Nevertheless the greens were in excellent conditions. Unfortunately, the average playing time is 5 hours since this course is the most played course in Orlando. In addtition, the marshal's are not able to push through the estimated playing time of 4.5 hours.
