Disney's Palm Golf Course
About
The 18-hole Palm Course at Walt Disney World Golf Resort in Lake Buena Vista, FL is a resort golf course that opened in 1971. Designed by Joe Lee and Rocky Roquemore, Palm Course at Walt Disney World Golf Resort measures 6870 yards from the longest tees and has a slope rating of 131 and a 73.7 USGA rating. The course features 4 sets of tees for different skill levels. Greens and fairways are bermuda grass.
The natural Florida woodlands provide a stunning backdrop to one of America's premier resort courses. Architect, Joe Lee, designed the 6,870-yard Palm with elevated tees and greens. The key ingredient, of course, was the Florida palm and he made good use of nearly every variety for aesthetic and strategic purposes. Its fairways are crafted through a pine forest of mature, natural woodlands that includes moss-dappled oak, maple and cypress trees. Palmetto scrub fills the forest floor. It boasts of more than its share of water and sand with nine water holes and 94 bunkers.
This is a perfect choice for everything from a casual round to a large group outing.

Beautiful Layout
Extraordinary views and vistas ! Great layout, challenging ! Greens aren't fully back from the redo and are hard, very hard. After a plug or 2 should be fine. Great value for $50
Not the Typical Disney experience
The facilities upon arrival were what you would expect from Disney, elaborate pro shop full of Disney logo merchandise, great practice facility, nice staff (cast members?) newer carts with GPS screens, everything well marked and clear directions to everything. The course was in nice condition and was designed for pro level play and has hosted multiple events as evidenced by the banners of previous winners at the start of the drive to the 1st tee. Overall a good experience and certainly a good value this time of year. My only complaint was the greens which were as hard as a rock making it nearly impossible to stop a shot no matter how high you brought it in. I hit a high spin rate ball and am long enough to be hitting 8 or 9 irons in to the green which are virtually all elevated greens and heavily bunkered in the front. Couldn't get the ball to bite. It makes it nearly impossible for my wife who hits a lower trajectory ball to stop anything on the green, and being sloped and elevated they promptly rolled all the way off and down the hill. In addition the forced carries over water and heavily bunkered approaches made my wife's round pretty frustrating. Kind of surprising that Disney would have a course this difficult for the vast range of skill sets they usually try to accommodate. So I would probably only recommend this course to an above average skill, lower handicap player.
Overall course
Great course and price. Treated very well!! Course was in great condition.
Disney as Expected
Everything you would have expected from Disney. The course was in nice shape and the service from the staff was excellent
palm
Overall good day. We were a 2some so it was a bit slow for us. Greens are new and were rock hard and would not accept any spin. Many of the greens after figuring this out we had to bounce the ball into it. I liked some of the changes to the course others not so much. Cart girl was terrific and we saw he 3 times which is unusual and an upgrade from when Disney ran the courses.
Engagement Experience
Overall, My girlfriend and I had a great time. The weather was very very bad, and the course was soaked! I know you cant control the weather, and I am very surprised Disney did not shut down the course for the day to prevent course destruction but I understand they would lose a lot of money if they did. I proposed to my girlfriend on the 18th hole. Played well up until the last hole because of nerves. haha. She was surprised and said Yes! Got a picture with the Mickey Mouse cart at the clubhouse at the end of the round. I booked through GolfNow.com and the only way they will refund your money is if the course is closed do to weather, i tried for a refund before the round, Disney wouldn't budge. haha Other then the weather being bad, I would recommend playing here, bring your own food and drinks, pretty pricey.
Palm 5-1
1/2 an hour waiting for our tee time with the tee open.
Over rated
Nice course, parts very wet + slow. Don't play if rained the previous day. Still challenging but enjoyable.
Outstanding
We were apprehensive that the greens would be too hard....yes they were hard but you could hit in with a wedge and they would hold. The course is in great shape.
Very nice course
Best course played while on vacation, but not best value compared to Celebration Golf Club
Need to stop beginners jining the day for many
4 people who have not played golf lost 6 holes on the group in front. Total chaos and disappointment behind them. Course is OK surprised to see some tee areas needing serious repair after it has been closed for a long period. Greens were very hard and fast so could not hold with any club more than an 8 iron. Made for a very difficult day. Not the total excellence I have experienced at Disney in the past so left disappointed due to high expectations that were not met.
Great Layout,
Layout is great and fun to play but conditions
were only average. very hard greens and grainy as well.
Nice course. Just wish it was a hotter day
Typical Disney major course. Well kept, harder but fair, and great looking. A couple of the greens were likely just aerated but it was minor. Had a great time.
Beautiful course
This course was in fantastic shape. The greens were fast and hard but rolled beautifully. The back nine has a lot of water hazards to contend with which require precise driving or not hitting driver. Fairways were in great shape and being Florida the rough isn't too punishing. The carts all have GPS and give you precise yard ages to anything you want to hit too. Came in handy when assessing trouble off the tee. Also the staff, in true Disney fashion, goes above and beyond to make sure you have everything you need to have a good time. Very friendly and it never feels forced, the generally care about you having a great experience. Pace of play can be a bit slow due to being a resort, but with all of the beautiful birds, flowers and golf course around you, it can be tolerated easily.
It's Disney
Round took 5+ hours, I felt like I was in line for Space Mountain. The course was in nice shape, though not as manicured as I pictured due to fungus issues, but they are working on that. The greens are ROCK SOLID. No pitch marks, and it doesn't matter how much spin you put on approach shots, it skirts forward. Heed the warning on the starter and play one to two less clubs coming into the green. It is understandable that they are hard, given the amount of traffic at Disney, and the average person playing a round will not repair pitch marks, so I can not complain about that. But the 5 hour and 28 minutes that it took us to complete the round I can complain about. I understand its a vacation course, but that is no excuse for slow play. Marshall's are only positioned at "slow" holes, and that did nothing to help the issue. Enjoyed the layout and the atmosphere, but there are too many fantastic courses to play around Orlando on a weekend. I will venture back, but only during the week or first two times on a weekend.
Great Disney course
Does Disney have any bad courses? I don't think so. The staff was friendly and course conditions were excellent. Pace of play could have been better, barely got my 18 in just before sunset. The holes on the back 9 with water really slow the pace of play. Still had a great time though.
Pace of play
As with some of the other comments made the pace of play was terrible. We were paired up so played as a four ball but it took us over two and half hours to play nine holes. We were concerned about being able to finish due to light but as luck would have it the four ball in front of us when in after nine holes. It still took us another two and half hours to complete our round. During the hole time of our round we never saw a Marshall to try and speed up play. Slow play is a constant problem but nothing is done to try and over come this they just try and get as many golfers on the course as they can. Which for us spoilt our impressions of the course.
Beautiful course
Great round of golf ! Greens were fast and some really tough holes. Can't wait to play it again.
Good experience
Playing some other Disney golf course. So very happy of it. The course was in great shape.
Corporate golf tournament in the morning. So late in the schedule. 51/2 for a 18 holes....oups !!!
Weather was great...it was a great golf day.
Bergsy
course was in good shape. very challenging. I would highly recommend for anyone to play
