Disney's Palm Golf Course
About
The 18-hole Palm Course at Walt Disney World Golf Resort in Lake Buena Vista, FL is a resort golf course that opened in 1971. Designed by Joe Lee and Rocky Roquemore, Palm Course at Walt Disney World Golf Resort measures 6870 yards from the longest tees and has a slope rating of 131 and a 73.7 USGA rating. The course features 4 sets of tees for different skill levels. Greens and fairways are bermuda grass.
The natural Florida woodlands provide a stunning backdrop to one of America's premier resort courses. Architect, Joe Lee, designed the 6,870-yard Palm with elevated tees and greens. The key ingredient, of course, was the Florida palm and he made good use of nearly every variety for aesthetic and strategic purposes. Its fairways are crafted through a pine forest of mature, natural woodlands that includes moss-dappled oak, maple and cypress trees. Palmetto scrub fills the forest floor. It boasts of more than its share of water and sand with nine water holes and 94 bunkers.
This is a perfect choice for everything from a casual round to a large group outing.

New greens were in great shape.
New greens were in great shape. Excellent re-design. New bunkers were much deeper than old ones. Plenty of water in play. Lots of wildlife to be seen. Will definitely be back.
Nice course, but....
... I was slightly disappointed, maybe due to my higher expectations of a PGA Tour-quality course. Greens were slow and didn't roll true - maybe needed to be cut shorter.
Pace of play was OK on front 9 but slowed down drastically in the back 9 due to the short par-5s that just about everybody thought they could hit that miraculous shot from 250 yards and get on the green in 2. Bu is Mickey's fantasy world so I guess this was as good a place as any to act like Tiger.
good time
good time..lots of wildlife....lost quite a few balls on back 9 lol
nice course. head pro has a poor attitude
I had a nice time on the couse. Even though they were fixing tee boxes and had machine's running while hitting. No one was behind my group and since the course was a little wet we played lift clean and place. On hole 7 or 8 I was hitting my approach shot and as I went to pick my ball to clean mud off a man in a cart off to the side started yelling at our group to hurry up. I thought this was pretty rude since this is one of thentoughest shots on the course and he couldnt wait till afterwards to tell us to pick up the pace. Not only that but there was no one behind us. I believe the group was on the previous holes tee box. What did he want me to do hit thenball with mud on it. Vey unprofessional. This guy happened tonbe thenhead pro which disapointed me even more. I appreciate himbuying our drinks but hencould have come up to ourngroup and appologized in person. For this reason I willnnot be.going back to this course since there are course just as nice and nicer in the area for the same price.
Wonderful
Golf course is beautiful.Even though i didn't play well, I Loved playing it.
Great challenges with great rewards if your hitting well
Great course excellently maintained , the greens were lightening fast with no give, the course set up is very challenging giving you the chance to play safe or really go for it to reap the rewards if you make the shot
Fast Greems
Found the course in good shape, greens were hard with my short irons I was able to stop the ball. We played in 15--25 mph. Had a great time. Lots of wildlife out there.
Very disappointing for a Disney World golf course !
Three friends played the Palm Course which was updated this past year; we had played course also in January 2014. Course is in poor condition: too many dry areas, too many spot sod plantings that didn't live, poorly edged sand traps, super hard greens where there were no divots, no indentations because greens are rock hard. We had way too many lawn leaf blowers and edgers all over the course with little regard for players. Electric carts come without ice, so if you want ice, you drive to side of building and use a 20 year old ice machine that barely works. At end of round, you ask about air compressor to blow off shoes, and you're told by staff, "Oh, the compressor never works, but it's on other side of building." This compressor didn't work this past January either; who's in charge of this place? Net: a very disappointing day. I suspect that a non-golfer is managing the course and getting praise for cutting expenses while the course declines. For a great golf experience, play the Celebration Golf Course just 3 miles away, or even the Disney Lake Buena Vista Course. We will not return to Palm.
Great day of golf
There was a little mix up with the tee time and I was a single player so I waited until the
foursomes teed off and then played with another single.Still had a great day of golf. I always enjoy playing Disney courses.
Prettiest course on Disney
This course is easily the best looking course on Disney's property... perhaps closely rivaled by Waldorf. When I played this course I found it to be in excellent condition with beautiful scenery (past hole 4). This course played 4-5 shots easier than Magnolia and for my money was more enjoyable.
The stretch of holes from 13-17 are some of the best holes in central Florida highlighted by the par 5 14th. Big Break Disney Golf was filmed here and it was cool to see some of the shots hit from that series on this course.
This is my favorite Disney course by far.
great course, despite the recent rain, plyed well and was challengeing
great course, despite the recent rain, played well and was challenging.
Pace of play was good.
I rented the clubs but these were in god shape.
Good course, below expectations.
The course was nice and had some good holes. However, nothing was really memorable and the playersdo a poor job of helping to maintain the course; ball marks, divots, etc.
Good course, Bad Greens
Unfortunately, the greens were aerated prior to my play on this course. The track was good, but the greens were in poor condition. I was aware of this prior to play, however the greens were worse than expected.
Staff was friendly, pace of play was good.
With healed greens, this would be a good course.
The staff was attentive and the fairways were in great condition. Greens could use attention
Course was in good condition and staff was friendly. The greens were a bit rough with complete bare patches on some of them. Overall the day was good but for the price spent on the day I would have expected a bit better.
Great experience
From the check in, to the beverage service on the course, the experience was superb. Disney has done a great job with their employees. I will be back!
Wonderful experience
We played the Palm course, and what a superb day we had. The course was in great shape, and the attention to detail everywhere was noticeable. The staff were friendly, and the GolfNow price of just $45 for a morning tee time, made it great value for money. This is worth at least double that. We would strongly recommend playing any of the Disney courses, and you won't be disappointed.
This course is challenging but fun...
This course is challenging and difficult at times, with lots of bunkers and water on many holes. The course was in excellent condition from the tee box to the greens, but what else should be expected from a course which hosted many PGA events.
There are signs on most holes listing players and describing special rounds they played in past years. Several holes list Jack Nicklaus, Tiger Woods, and other players like Vijay Singh, and Davis Love III.
This course has nice features likes GPS in carts, drinking water near several tee boxes, and a fully stocked beverage cart which seemed to be around several times on each side.
Finally, watch out for the seven foot, three legged alligator around hole 17...
A must play for everyone.
Love this course and is well maintained. Greens and Fairways are in excellent condition. Layout is challenging but overall a lot of fun to play.
Awesome Course
The course is in great shape and plays very well. Great layout that keeps you thinking.
Very interesting course
as always Disney does a good job. They did everything to make us feel special.
