Good looking course
The course was great just aerated so the greens were bumpy. Difficult to putt on but otherwise the course was in great shape. You need to keep the ball in the middle of the fairway on the short grass otherwise some of the grass on the fringe was difficult to hit the ball. The pro shop wants to charge non residents more to play. I thought that was unfair.
Best Disney course
You’d think disney world would have the best courses in Florida but they don’t. Still probably one of the best courses in the area. Obviously you pay for the Disney name but it was fun. Good layout and the greens rolled quick and true.
Another enjoyable day...until it rained
This was our second time played LBV since we played it a couple of years ago on Christmas Day. The bag drop folks were cordial and approachable which is not always the case. My wife has two very bad knees and has difficulty walking great distances if the cart has to remain on the paths near the greens. We asked about deactivating the sensor on the cart which shuts it down if you get too close to the green and they politely referred us to the pro shop staff. As we paid for our golf we asked the very nice young lady about the sensor and she said that once we got out assigned cart to come and see her about deactivating the sensor. We did just that and off we went to the range to warm up. After hitting a few balls at the range we went to the first tee to check in with the starter and hit a few practice putts. The putting green is right next to the first tee which I think is awesome because you are right nearby when your tee time is called. We were paired with tow singles to fill our foursome. Nice guys and capable golfers as well. The four of us enjoyed the company of strangers during the round. The course was in nice shape but the geeens were slower than they looked. None of the four of us made a putt of any great length all day, but that was no fault of the greens, we just could not find the hole. On the back nine the hot Florida afternoon brought a storm in and on the 16 th hole we got a message on the cart’s GPS that we may receive a take shelter notice shortly. We heard thunder in the distance, but never saw an lightning so we hastened our pace to try to finish. On 17 we to the message to take shelter but we still had not seen any lightning so we kept going (we know we aren’t supposed to do that). We joined the twosome in front of us for the last two holes and raced to finish. The heavens opened up as we got to the 18th green and we did not hole out. For the most part it was a great day.
Now for the negative: we never saw a course Marshall and really needed one as the foresome in front of us were terrible golfers and we waited on every shot as they goofed around and hit extra shots on almost ever hole. While 2.5 hours for nine holes isn’t terrible, we would have been done in less than 2 if not for those clowns. Thankfully, they disappeared at the turn and play moved faster. The other negative was that the sensor on the golf cart was not disabled as promised and my wife was forced to sit out the back nine because of her knees.
We love the Disney courses and it is always a treat to play on courses with healthy grassy fairways and smooth, well conditioned greens.
Good Layout, fun course
Let me start by saying this was the first time I have played this course, even though I have played the other Disney courses a handful of times each. The staff was very friendly and helpful checking in, on the course, and after the round. The putting/chipping green near the first tee was very large but only had 5 holes cut. Would potentially like to see more holes or even the golf ball sized training holes cut here to provide more dynamic looks before the round. The layout of the course is nice. Definitely, have to be accurate and keep the ball in play. Only a few holes allow for mistakes with water and trees coming into play on almost every driving hole. The greens were challenging to read and quite quick if not in the correct locations. The only critic and warning I have about the course would be that due to the nature of its location, between several Disney resorts. Depending on the time of the day, you can have some loud background noise or delays for transportation boats passing on some of the holes. Overall this is a good course, but as a local, I might steer clear as it has the feel of a typical resort course.
Another Great Disney Course
This course was a lot of fun to play. A few holes have challenging green side bunkers. The speed of the greens was just right. Staff as usual was very friendly.
Pin Placement complaint
Want faster play, pay more attention to the person that put the flag location on course, very questionable placement of flag on 15. Great shots 1 inch from hole to the left and ran off green several feet below the green. Otherwise love the course and conditions are excellent, highly recommend course.
Happiest turf on earth
Beautiful golf course in fantastic condition. Staff was super friendly and course was immaculately keep.
Lake Buena Vista
Great course, beautiful greens would definitely play again!
Nice
The layout of the course was very nice, the pace was a tad slow, but the greens were even slower. I’d play it again if a bit cheaper. Kinda pricey for slow greens.
johns lake bv
The course was good but not outstanding in layout or scenery; greens and most fairways course conditions very good but around the greens, some fringes were worn thin. Pace was slow and no ranger around to help speed it up. The range was sub par; no stand to put your clubs on and no club cleaning water or brushes. The parking was a disaster---totally lacking the capacity. I drove around and waited for someone to leave for 20-25 min before finally giving up and parking in a " company" space. As a consequence, I lost virtually all of my warm up practice time and was stressed when starting the round. The club staff was not very concerned about this problem and offered little or no help/suggestions to park for a while. The one person just said it was a busy day and they could not do anything about it Very disappointing. Don't think I will ever go there again
Interesting course
We found the course very interesting, but we don’t think it was worth $105. A more fair price would be $80 or $85. The staff was super friendly but we were disappointed that nobody noticed that we left personal items in the cart cooler. Our fault but they should check. We would play this course again but would hope to get a better price.
Fun Course to Play
The course is not too challenging, would recommend it for one but the very serious players. Several of the groups ahead of us were a little bit slow but not too bad. They were older and having fun. The course plays along a canal with Disney boats that are constantly hooking their horns every time they pass another boat or go under a bridge. Very ignoring after awhile. *** Driving range uses special balls that float and don't go as far. I was worried about my game till someone told me. A bit a relief when your pitching was comes up 30 yards short every time.
mickey was SLOW
another course that has a ranger that does nothing. why have a ranger if he is not going to push groups that are out of place???
Beauty
LBV is a great course, but you better bring your A game. It has relatively narrow fairways and practically every green is surrounded by bunkers. But the trip around the course is well worth the challenge.
Thank you for your recent review of our facilities and your experience playing at Walt Disney World's Lake Buena Vista golf course.
This past Sunday was an extremely busy day due to the fact that two of our championship golf courses were closed during early morning hours for Run Disney Marathon operations, thus causing additional compression at Disney's LBV golf course. We had Player Assistants out monitoring play who are trained to handle these situations appropriately when they arise.
We hope that you will play our wonderful courses again in time to come, so we can exceed your expectations upon your next visit to Orlando.
If you would like to further discuss what you encountered during your visit with our management staff, please feel free to reach out to our Leadership by emailing disneygolfreservations@palmergolf.com so that we can help resolve your residual concerns.
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us!
